Sam - 11.21

I'm not happy with Sam's storyline in this ep. I know that some of you love 11.21, and it does have some good moments, but I have too many issues with it, and now I feel depressed. *sigh*

spoilers for 11.21 )

You know, even as dedicated a Dean girl as I am, I was hoping for more Sam-wise. While Dean certainly needs to have a way overdue conversation with God/Chuck, Sam needs it as well, maybe more. Like you say, he's the one that was always drawn as having faith in God and angels. I think Sam deserves acknowledgement from God/Chuck of his sacrifices. Dean gave up so much, and hurt so much, and he breaks my heart, He's just so devastated by it all. But he did that for Sam. Sam gave as much as Dean and suffered as much, but he did it for the world, to save everyone. There should have been a scene where Chuck addressed that.

I'm enjoying this season but they can't ice Amara soon enough for me! :D

Yes, they both needed to having a meaningful conversation with God. Instead, they had Sam act like he was meeting a celebrity. There's a lot that God has to answer for, but Sam had nothing to say. It hurts to see Sam sidelined like this by the writers.

Yes, Sam deserves to be acknowledged for all of his sacrifices. I'll be very surprised if Chuck says anything about it.

I've been enjoying this season, too. It's a shame that they're messing with Sam's storyline like this, so close to the end of the season. I have mixed feelings about Amara.

I agree with pretty much everything you've said. Just a bit of a let-down after such a good episode last week.

Chuck said that Amara warded herself, so he didn't know where she was.
I actually think that Chuck is lying about that, about all of it. I also think Chuck is the one lying about how Amara was first trapped, not Lucifer. I think Chuck did have Lucifer's help. So, yeah, Chuck's hiding A LOT from Sam & Dean, in my opinion.

Yes, the last ep was very good, so it was disappointing to see that the follow up didn't live up to expectation.

I agree, Chuck is lying about that. And I'm sure that Chuck had Lucifer's help. Chuck isn't being honest about a lot of things. He's covering up his own mistakes, and he's placing some of the blame where it doesn't belong.

I hate it too. I almost cant finish it. *sighs*
I blame the writers.
I love Rob. I do. But I hate this God. I hate Lucifer. Guh! I can go on and on and on...

Anyway, hugs you tight. I know how you feel.

I blame the writers, too. Lots of plot (and plot holes), not a lot of coherence.

The storyline with God was so much better last week.

Aww, thanks bb. I'm glad that you understand how I feel, and I understand your frustration, too. *big hugs*

I would love to see Sam!pov on things - a conversation between Chuck and Sam would be awesome!! I'm really hoping that we get to see that still: there's such a strong family theme going on this season and considering Dean's in trouble with Amara, a conversation between Chuck and Sam would make so much sense. Also, I can't believe that planets and ears are really the thing Sam would ask Chuck if he got some one-on-one time with him.

Not having the Samulet discussed further at this point didn't really surprise me. I can see it discussed if there's a goodbye scene between the boys or something coming up.

I thought about the point of Amara wardhing herself against Chuck but looking for him. I guess one advantage of that would be that if Chuck can't find her, he can't also surprise her with a sneak attack. I'm not sure if that's what the writers reasoned though (probably not) since they didn't touch the 'how Chuck knows Amara has Lucifer' issue.

Yes, it would be wonderful to have Sam's pov! And you're right, planets and ears aren't really the things that Sam would talk about... but, given the opportunity to talk to the creator of the universe, this is all that the writers could come up with. I have no idea if the next two eps will treat Sam any differently.

I would've liked some form of acknowledgement for the samulet, even if it's brought up during a goodbye scene. But, I'll be glad if it gets discussed in the finale.

Since Amara desperately wants to find Chuck, then it also means that she wants to face him, so I guess she's willing to deal with any kind of attack on her that he'd come up with. And yes, Chuck knows that Amara has Lucifer, so he knows where she is.
