They made an announcement that anyone outside of the U.S., Canada, The U.K. and Australia would not be able to upload or view content on Tinypic. They encouraged users to transition to Photobucket (which, unlike Tinypic, requires for you to pay for more bandwidth). So as of yesterday, anyone outside of those four countries couldn't even see gifs from Tinypic, which most people on LJ use. I guess they received enough complaints that they lifted the restriction. Be glad you missed it and didn't spend hours trying to find a new place to host your pictures like a bunch of us did.
Yeah, I have no idea what they were thinking, especially considering people in those countries would want their stuff to show up for people no matter where the viewer is from.
