El_P, Misfits, and stuff and stuff

As many of you may know, the new year brought with it a new mod for el_puckerone: me! I've been working like crazy so I haven't been around much outside of a few ontd_skating posts, but I've got an el_p activity in the works for tomorrow, so try to check it out. Sad-face right now because I see I missed some stuff on morethan4sides, Chris Colfer winning at the Golden Globes, and ( Read more... )

plot bunnies twitching their noses, fs fandom is bananas, pucker up noah puckerman, glee by its very definition is glee, misfits

No, but I will be by the end of the week because I watch and episode on the way to work and one on the way back. I have just inadvertently spoiled myself for some stuff that has aired already though. Is there something you wanted to squee about?

Yeah, I was kind of feeling Simon/Alisha from the "piss on your tits" moment because I'm effing weird. Color me surprised when I started looking for gifs tonight and started finding all of the Simon/Alisha stuff!

Kelly was the second character that I was thinking was awesome. Mind-readers are generally great to watch though, so I may be biased.

I'll be watching episode 4 on the way to work tomorrow and it looks so good.

I suppose Cas is a throw back to my days of liking weirdos, haha, I never really thought about it, but I can see it. Simon and Cas having a conversation while Sam and Dean look on would be golden.

My type as in pretty, but kind of a douchebag? :P I think Nathan is the most physically attractive of the guys and I love watching him be a total prick, but the presence of that crazy-eyed creeper Simon distracted me too much to fully appreciate anyone else.

A lot of people are talking about Being Human, but I've never wanted to watch it. It's kind of like how people say Shameless is great but then I read the plot summaries and I can't help but think, "Really?" Maybe it's something you have to see to understand.

Misfits is so awesome, I just love it. Simon is absolutely awkward and adorable even when he's all creepy. I just want to hug him.

Being Human is one of those shows that I kept meaning to watch, but never felt much urgency towards. Even now, I'm much more curious about what each new episode of Misfits is going to bring than anything on BH. I think I need more fun/humor to keep me into shows lately. I only read a few summaries of Shameless and it seemed like too much to catch up on, but I think that it's hard to sell dramas/soaps on plot summaries alone because so much of the interest comes from giving a damn about the characters. I don't know what it is about that creepy smile that I love so much, but Simon's awkward wins me over so much.

I LOVE Being Human. LOVE it. It is absolutley brilliant. I haven't seen the pilot, but I don't really care since two of the actors are different. So I can't really comment on that episode. But from episoe 1 on it really is wonderful.

I watched the American version tonight and it was awful. It lacks all of the heart and soul that makes the original so touching.

I try not to judge a show solely on the looks of the promo photos, but the promotional campaign they were running here didn't give me much hope for the U.S. version of Being Human. (It was actually the U.S. version that motivated me to finally watch the original so I'd have something to compare it to.)

It's superficial, but the hotness of an actor can really help with my enjoyment of a show and without UK!Mitchell to look at, I don't know that I'll enjoy the show as much.

I'm only two episodes in, so we'll see how things go when the plot really gets kicking. Oh, and the pilot is worth watching for the back-story of how the roommates came together, but it would probably be weird seeing the other actors in the roles. Did the U.S. version try to sex-and-monsters everything up?

Oh, I know what you mean. The promos were terrible. And as such a big fan of the original, I was already iffy about a remake.

LOL, Mitchell is goregous. And I like that while has that brooding look about him, the character isn't broody. He's kind of goofy at times. I know what you mean though. If Ian Somerhalder wasn't on The Vampire Diaries I'd have given up on it long ago. :P

Well, I hope that it picks up for you. :)

See... They do a flashback to how Mitchell and Geroge met in one of the eps. So I think that seeing another verison might be confusing. Ugh, yes. They did. The vampire is all lusty and there are more sex jokes. And Twilight jokes. And the vampires are more... vampy. It was awful.

The whole Lady Killer/Free Spirit/Wild Man thing was so gimmicky that it gave me low expectations. Maybe if I keep them really low I'll be pleasantly surprised. It was pretty clear that they were going the lusty route with the vampire though. This may be hypocritical from a Supernatural fan because that show thrives on meta, but a lot of this meta with the Twilight references and stuff needs to just stop.

Mitchell is at his hottest when he's smiling and being playful. I like seeing him when he's flirting or teasing or laughing. Just be a happy vampire for me, dang it! (Oof, even Ian didn't keep me past one episode of Vampire Diaries, but I hear that it improved as the first season went along.)

I think it's just a matter of the mood I'm in. I'm in a comedic-drama mood, so really serious stuff is just too heavy for me right now. Hopefully the plot will hook me soon though.

Should be interesting to see how much they stuck to from the pilot. I like comparing that stuff. I still want to watch the BTVS pilot with a different Willow.
