Who thinks Sorkin needs to find himself a big ladder so he can get over himself. It's moderately entertaining television, and it could be amazing, but you're so right--he needs to get out of his own head.

If one didn't know about SportsNight (and that would be v. possible, considering it only ran for what, a season and a half?), one would think that he just didn't know how to write such a wildly different industry, or that without large, dramatic world/national events to spin his characters lives around, he's lost on the smaller footing. But SN was so good, and totally worked, so His Issues are the only thing I can see causing the problem.

You say he needs a ladder -- my old friend Marta would say that he needed to get down from his cross, take the wood, and build a bridge to get over it. :D
