First comp theme for the year is "Your Place"...a photo of any kind or subject, so long as it is taken within the walls of your own home. At first i was stumped, but then found i gradually thought of more ideas than i had time to shoot!

Click on the pics for larger versions.

This first one is called "After Dinner Mouse"

Ummm, the better wide angle lenses don't have the barrel distortion. It will be interesting to see whether the judge gets what you are doing with the second one or just thinks the colour balance is wrong.

Still procrastinating here, nothing done yet.

Oh bugger, do you think it looks like it could be a mistake? I thought i pushed the colour extremes far enough apart that it looked deliberate. Well, they are sent in now...will see what the judges say!

Does it have to be a dedicated wide angle lens to not have the distortion? I'm just using the widest end of my Tamron zoom. A dedicated wide angle lens is waaaaaay down my priorities list, unfortunately.

A better quality zoom should be fine. I'm not really up with the Nikon world so can't make any reccomendations.

I upgraded from the cheap Nikon to the better Tamron when i bought the camera! It was only a relatively small amount of distortion...i actually didn't even notice it until Malcolm popped the grid over it. Will have to make do, as a new lens is below a new body on the shopping list...and a new camera body is a long way down the general needs list altogether!

I'm still stuffing around with images and ideas as well. Still I have the Natasha on the stairs and the fan shot, it might be just that!!
