Music is like that for me as well. There are songs I associate with memories or places and just a few notes takes me back. It's also hard for me to reassociate a song with something new (i.e. during the Vancouver opening ceremonies, there were two songs that I associate heavily with different movies and so that was all I could think about and thus was entirely distracted from the ceremonies.)
