I don't know if you got my IM, but you need to stop by Shields tomorrow and pick up The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, by Michael Chabon. It's very similar to the story in "Box Office Poison" except that it's set in the 1940s, but the story in it is very similar to what happens to Mr. Flavor in B.O.P.
By the way, thanks for letting me borrow the book. To be honest it took me a little while to get into it because I wasn't too crazy about the way he worked his frames (I like space inbetween frames. I'm kinda a stickler about that.) but it's a good story, and after a fitful start I ended up reading the entire thing in one sitting.
I think once I get done with my classes and I upgrade my computer's OS and get a student copy of Dreamweaver I'm going to offer to redesign the B.O.P. site sans charge. The site really sucks, and I think I could redesign it for him within a week or two.
