Question: Does this existence of multiple religions help prove or disprove the existence of God?

My response:

I think the existence of so many religions proves there is an overwhelming desire on the part of humans to believe there is some personal being or force out there.

I personally believe that religion and G-d have nothing to do with each other.

Religion is simply the cultural recognition of a power greater than the individual or community. Whether this is God, a god, numerous G(g)ods, or simply a mass hallucination isn't really important. What is important is the connection that the individual feels with the said deity. I do believe that there is a creative force, but whether this is God or not...I can't tell ya. But does it really matter?
