I read the first book, Leviathan Wakes, a little while back, and recently got round to reading the second and third. Someone online said book #5 was really good, so we'll see what I think

Heh, pretty much what I thought. I think it was George R R Martin who said book 5 was something special, but I was not so convinced.

Ah, I should have remembered it was him, that doesn't invalidate the comment, but he was excited about the series from the start, so it's probably less persuasive than it might otherwise be. I expect I'll feel more like you, but I'll probably read it anyway.
