Sam returned from her morning run and shower, followed by a trail of five kittens, nipping at each other and at her heels as she went into her room. She sat down on the bed to dry her hair and was swarmed quickly by the kittens, except for a wee black one that rushed under the bed.
"Okay, you're all too cute," she said, prying one small gray kitten off the end of the towel he was clinging to. He curled up at Sam's side, purring and looking up at her with big green eyes. Another small gray one curled up in Sam's lap and went to sleep. A little orange tabby batted at the sleeping gray one's tail, then launched herself at one of the pillows on the bed. Sam giggled at their antics.
"I would kind of like to know why you're here," she said, reaching for her laptop and knocking a calico to the floor and getting an angry mew. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She picked the kitten up and cradled it in her hand, running one finger down its head as she opened the laptop with the other one. The kitten nipped at her until Sam stopped petting it and apparently decided to take a scroll across the keyboard. "Hey, now," she lifted the calico and put it on the pillow next to the tabby. It wandered back over and lay down right on the enter key.
"No computers," Sam scolded. "Mew," the kitten informed Sam as she logged in to check her e-mail, hoping for news from Daniel. Instead she got a message from
Rory. "Oh." She sighed.
She'd be at the meeting at five, but until then she was engaging in kitten therapy.
[ooc: Door is open and she is completely botherable.]
