Digital cameras and other things

This summer, so far, has been deliciously busy. We've even been spontaneous, which turned out quite well (including seeing someone I haven't seen since high school!) despite the traffic horrors we've been made to endure. We had an impromptu doctor's appointment on Thursday because Graham was complaining about neck pain. Our doctor is in Langley ( Read more... )

We'd like to at some point in the next couple of months -- some relatives I like a whole lot live there. We got together with them this past week, and they extended an invitation.

Are you still planning a trip to Seattle?

I was supposed to be coming out for the fourteenth, but it isn't looking as though it's going to happen at this point. I need Owen's birth certificate and we'd have to rent a car (ours would not survive. :D) and Dave would have to have someone to look after the children if he needed to work.

I'm thinking of a day trip in the next month or so, though. I'm going to convince Dave that it's a good idea.

I cannot believe it took you so long woman.
Now there is no excuse to not post millions of pictures every single day.

I know! We wanted to get a good one, not just a passable one. And then we had to wait until we could afford it, and until I could convince Dave that spending that type of money all in one go was worth it.

He realized that we've spent over $1000 just for professional baby photographs on the three boys; that sealed the deal. The camera itself costs less than that, and we can get unlimited pictures! Yay!

I'm still tailoring it when I have breaks with the kiddos. I want to make the picture larger, the background colour less salmon, and put the borders back around my entries. I can't thank you enough for teaching me how to do this! It's SO fun! :D

I had a dream about you, btw. Two nights ago. I was visiting you and our children were playing together. Your husband was home but I didn't know so I was just openly nursing Owen; my breasts were hanging out and you got really mad at me because Jason (that's his name, right??) was in the kitchen cooking. He wasn't at all how I imagine him in real life - in the dream he looked like a bleached-blonde skid. I woke up wondering where the heck that dream came from!

It was fun hanging out with you, though. I'm really glad you're posting more lately.

what was up with graham's neck?

The doctor looked for signs of infection, but he said it just looked like a pulled muscle. I've never heard of kids doing that, but he was swimming in a pool for the first time since toddlerhood the night before. The doctor thinks that was the culprit.

I think he's mostly mended now. I still can't get him to tilt his head back to brush his teeth, though. It's on the side of his neck, the right side. It's so sad!

If you had ASKD me? That's the camera I'd have told you to get. So you did GREAT! :D

I can't wait to see a million pictures!!

I read your comment above about not being able to make it to Seattle... I'm so sad!! But I totally understand. We'll be back... Oh, yes... we'll be back. :D

The funny thing is that I wondered if you'd approve. I thought of you with our camera purchase! haha!

I know. I'm trying to avoid thinking about it because I feel so disappointed. I know you'll be back, though, because Sarah still lives out here...just make sure it's not three years. I hate that I've missed out on meeting you a second time. :(

We're going to be unwrapping our 1 GB card tonight; we hadn't opened it in hopes that we could find it cheaper. Today we saw that it went on sale! Yippee!

Our next visit won't have a wedding attached to it... and hopefully it'll include kids. I'm thinking we may fly out next Spring to spend Spring break. If we do? Then WE may be the ones driving up to YOU. I can't have the whole family THAT close to Canada and not cross the border. :D

OH, DO! Pleeeease. I want our children to hang out. Graham and Mabry, Caleb can try to fit in with the older boys...and Owen will just have to sit in my lap and watch. ;)

Plus, Canada is gorgeous. There's tons to do outdoors! But you've been here, haven't you? In BC?

I recomend a smaller more affordable model! Smaller is very essential with kids so you can atleast bring it everywhere!

Thanks for the update, We have missed you!

I've sure missed all of you! It's been such a whirlwind around here; I'm guessing it'll only get worse as the boys get older. Boys! They're like hurricanes on legs! :D

We already bought it. It's not as bulky as an SLR; it's sleek considering the mother lens. If you saw it you'd be in love...camera love. Seriously. The shots are so crisp and beautiful. And Dave worked some serious overtime through Canada day and some double shifts, so he made nearly $1000 extra this paycheque. It was nice to finally be able to go get one; we've been waiting four years!

I understand! Canon makes a great camera reguardless. I have one, but its a little smaller, and I wish I had a smaller, lighter one now.
