I'm gonna be totally dorky and say that this story reminded me of this song which is campy as hell and over the top by I still love it.

I don't think I've ever heard that song before! I like it. But I love videos from the 80s and 90s. None of them make any sense! Like the guy has all these machines behind him... life support, I guess? But none of them are connected to him. That would ruin the big finish at the end, I suppose.
