WHO: Everyone! WHAT: A nice and quiet day. WHERE: In the farmhouse WHEN: Second night of the "Go West!" event. WARNING(S): TBA - please warn in the subject line if it gets higher than PG-13
But before the nightmares begin, there's dinner to be had. The sun's still setting, taking too long out here in the American south, so the lighting in the room is a little off. Just a little darker than it should be. As things are winding down, however, and you might already be getting ready to clear your dishes (from a rather depressingly patchwork meal), you hear the loud clinking of a fork on a glass, from near the head of the table

''Maybe we can find a village, or just a few houses with access to a phone so I can talk to someone back home; it doesn't seem like the communication devices are capable of long-distance calls. Dad wouldn't just leave me here for no reason..''
He wouldn't, right..? Gokudera was starting to feel a little less confident in that regard.
"Yeah, I'm fairly certain there should be a village somewhere nearby. You must've seen the buildings in the distance that one direction, and where would all the food and stuff that was in the fridge have come from? Fairies?" She laughed lightly at her own joke. Of course, it was only funny to her. Shame. She'd have to find a better way of showing off to the children who were actually worth talking to (and not crazy). Gokudera seemed like he might be one of them: He was basically the only kid she'd talked to so far who was actually capable of thinking remotely rationally about what was happening to them. Though she should cut them some slack: They were, like, six, after all.
''Right..'' She was definitely better at imitating funny accents than telling jokes. ''The priest-guy claimed that he knows how to ride so perhaps we could use the wagon in the barn to travel in.''
Totally classy threadjack coming your way, just warning you now.psychoanalolistJune 1 2011, 11:30:52 UTC
"Yeah, of course! That's a great idea. It would totally work--" She turned to fix her eyes on said boy, with a slight flutter of her eyelashes. "Riiiiiiiight?" She stretched out the word to cover how she'd never actually gotten his name. They still hadn't been introduced, which was a shame if you asked her. He was pretty much the only kid besides Medic around her age, after all.
Classy threadjack is go~!ordens_staatJune 1 2011, 11:44:46 UTC
"I said I know how to ride, not drive a wagon." He looks a bit offended by the idea that somehow these two skills must be related, because they aren't, really, and isn't it obvious he used to be an awesome warrior before he had to settle down some? ...Okay, so the kid with silver hair didn't believe he was a priest, so perhaps understanding that he used to be a knight would be beyond them.
Yes, Annuska, he is entirely oblivious to your feminine wiles. Such as they are. So to speak.
Gokudera hadn't totally abandoned the idea that Prussia might be a priest, he was somewhat naive at this point of time after all, but he was skeptic.
''How hard can it be? We just attach it to the animal and make the horse go in the right direction, right?'' He didn't know a lot about horses and such, but it seemed pretty easy in theory.
She wasn't using anything like feminine wiles! At least, not really. She'd just picked up on the pattern that it was a highly effective technique for getting what you want from boys. Actual feminine wiles would be unethical and unprofessional, which she obviously totally was not. The kinds of things she did totally just leveled the playing field in the face of chauvinism, right? Yeah. Because that was clearly still an issue - c.f. the other German boy. Hopefully this one wouldn't be quite as stupid and uncooperative...
"Gokudera's right. And you definitely know more about horses than almost everyone else. Like, I'd never even seen a real one before I came here." Oh, wait. Would mentioning the lack of horses in the modern day make him go off on a tangent about the time travel? It was a tough call: On the one hand, he'd been here for two days, but on the other--well, the point was that she wasn't sure. It was best to try to move on so they wouldn't get caught up in that. "Unless Ashura can help, you're the closest out of any of us to

Totally did not even get the notifs for these comments wtf.ordens_staatJune 6 2011, 20:34:01 UTC
"I know how to ride horses. I know how to put saddles on them. I know how to put a warhorse in full armour, even." He does look just a little puffed up, egowise, at the idea of being the most knowledgeable about something. Though it does seem a bit strange for her to have never seen a horse, but maybe there are places that just don't have the creatures? "What I do not know is how to attach a horse to a wagon. It's not as simple as it looks. There is harness and reins and such to consider, never mind that perhaps the wagon is not designed to be pulled by just one horse, which is all we have."
That's the complicated part about three-way posting ^^; I'll note Angelica so she knows its her turncharinjo6June 6 2011, 23:44:30 UTC
''Oh..'' That was disappointing. ''But we won't know for sure until we try, right? And it is probably designed for just one horse since the farm only have one horse; the farmers who owns this place would have to be pretty stupid if they kept an unusable wagon around.''
Just know that I've been applauding your valiant efforts.psychoanalolistMay 31 2011, 16:02:20 UTC
She turns her head to glare stoutly at that boy. "Did you listen to a single word I just said? I just went on for like five minutes about how we're going to run out of food and all that! Does being a girl somehow make me, like, automatically lying about everything?"
He's definitely oral aggressive in nature - she wonders if she should propose that he's still breastfeeding. No, that would be immature. She's the mature one here. Although it does seem that he's one of the few kids around her age or older. She'll have to tread carefully with him...
