"A strange place, with white walls. They had the same... communicators? The same ones we do here."

''I can operate those, but I don't remember how I learned it.. pretty weird.''

Aah, the wind--her hat! Her hat! Luka's chasing it down, but that thing...either it's riding the wind or skittering away from her by itself--it's hard to tell but.

"Wait--ah!" The hat lands in the water, and she's soon by the pond, on her knees and trying to reach for it.

''Haha, you're so clumsy.'' The kid giggled a bit at the funny situation as he tried to reach for the hat too, but his arms weren't long enough. ''We should find a stick.''

She draws back at that, a tiny part of her wishing she could voice her indignation--Am not!--but she can't muster the anger. So she settles for letting him help her.

"Mm." A nod, before she's looking around her for such an implement. That hat seems to mock her, staring at them with its vacant eyes and its catlike smile.

After searching around the pond for a short time he found what he was looking for. ''This one should do.''

He crouched back down again, trying to pull the hat towards him with the stick. ''It's a pretty weird-looking hat. You must be fond of cats?''

She watches him try to retrieve her hat, which is still floating on the pond like a lily pad. Cheeky little thing.

She doesn't know how to respond to his calling her hat weird, but doesn't feel up to protesting about it. She nods, "Mm. They're really cute."

''I like them too. There, I can almost reach it; just a bit further now..''

That was a bit too far though; flailing his arms, the Italian cried out in surprise as he suddenly lost his balance, involuntary plunging into the pond. The water was cold and unpleasant, but he knew how to swim fortunately, even if it was a bit awkward with clothes on. He was definitely going to get that stupid hat now however!

She cries out when she sees them fall in. Wait--no--aaaah, what's she gonna do! She leans over the water, at the risk of falling in herself. "H--Hey! Are you--Are you okay?" This is all her fault! If only she hadn't been so careless!

''I'm fine!'' His voice wavered somewhat though; the kid was a bit scared, but he didn't want to admit it. ''Catch!

Grabbing the hat, he made a clumsy attempt to throw it towards the girl before concentrating on getting back on dry land himself, paddling towards the shore in Luka's direction.

He caught her by surprise though, and she reaches out to grab her hat, half-jumping and--

--That's probably a bad idea. A tiny fist snatches the hat from the air, and the rest of her falls ungracefully into the pond with a yelp.

''Shit; I forgot how clumsy you are! Can you swim?!''

He was almost next to where she had fallen in by now so he'd find some way to help the girl ashore if not.

"Ah!--" She can't answer at the moment, too busy flailing and thrashing at the water, one hand still gripping her hat. Her one coherent thought at the moments is her relief at being waterproof. Wait, the bank's nearby, calm down, calm down...

It didn't seem like it.. He attempted to grab hold of her, planning to pull the girl with him the rest of the way; they'd be out of the stupid water soon, at least if she stopped flailing so much.

She'd swim if she didn't have a hat to hold on to.

She hasn't decided if she wants to let go of it yet. Ugh, water in her hair, water in her dress, flail, flail, try to stay afloat--hand?
