She's in bed, trying to get some sleep but it's hard to do so in a strange place like this. Whatever those scary shadows and noises are, she doesn't want to know! She keeps her eyes closed, preferring one kind of darkness to another and hoping to keep most of the scary things away by not seeing them. They--They can't hurt her, right? Right? She holds her hat against her chest and tries not to think about it, shutting her eyes tighter than ever.

Holding a frying pan and wearing a colander as helmet Samus isn't really worried here, really. As long as nothing else but shadows and weird rumors are around she can deal with it (just wait until the real troubles start) that's why she's quite surprised realizing that the pink-haired girl seems so nervous.

"Does your tummy hurt?"

She flinches at hearing something, her brows wrinkling, her fingers digging into her hat, her body curling up even tighter. After a long time she cracks open an eyelid. Oh--Oh, it's only bouncy girl, thank goodness. She considers the question for a moment, opening both of her eyes but looking all the more agitated for it.

"N--No."

Shen tilts her head, not really understanding at first, then sighs moving a little closer.

"Awww, there's nothing to be afraid of here. It's just a windy night and this building isn't too good so makes a lot of weird noises..." She can't explain the wolves's howling but... hey, they're safe inside a house, right?
"Everything will be fine, our tutors wouldn't have send us here otherwise." Well, not in her case but she doubts pinkie's here for training.

But it's still scary, all so scary. She's been waiting for her own guardian to come and pick her up again but he didn't show up, and spending the night in a strange new place is making her even more anxious.

Still peering out from under the covers, "Y--You really think so?" She sounds convincing enough, but--but what if it's not just the house?

Samus lean closer, moving to pat her cheek in a reassuring way.

"Of course, of course, I'm sure about it and if something shows up... then I'll be here to protect you, mh?" And shows her frying pan with pride. "Now try to sleep, pinkie... there's nothing that can relax you?"

She pulls the covers down a little, finally catching sight of the other girl's...armor. She stares at it a moment, forgetting her own terror. "Umm..." She sits up. "Are--Are those from the kitchen?"

Samus chuckled, patting her helmet "Yup! it's full of resistant tools, there. Do you want a weapon too?" asked, jumping on the bed.

She doesn't see how they can do much good against...against...well...something.

"I--I don't know how to use those, um, like that."

[chibi_aran]

Samus's a very optimistic little lady, you know?

"You grab it very firmly and, baboom, you smash it on your enemy's head!" At least, in cartoons it works.

"E--Enemies?" Now why did you have to go and make her fears tangible like that?

"Ah! I... I'm just playing! There's no real enemy around!" She wasn't planning to scare her even more.
"Listen, it's time to sleep now and there's nothing to worry about here... there's nothing you like that could distract you a little?"

She isn't completely assured of that, but the other girl's cheer does calm her somewhat. She rubs at her eyelids. She's tired, all right. But not sleepy.

"Um..." Thinking... What does she like? Music, her cats, not stuttering for once. "I--I don't know." Urgh. Real helpful.

She smiled widely, tilting her head and sitting on the bed: being so confient will cause her problems in the future and honestly she's not so brave as she seems (yet) but... if it will somehow help.

"Uhm..." thank you for being so talkative, Pinkie "Well... Plushies? Puppies? Something?"

"C--Cats," she says finally. Cats are always nice. "And--And chicks!" she adds, giggling a little as she sits up, remembering an earlier adventure this morning.

"Cats, mh? And what do you love about them?" Cats... cats... never heard of them but let's pretend she knows what she's talking about "And chicks... oh, I love chicks as well. When I have free time I always play with them!"
