S2 Bloggish - The meaning of #alpha, #beta, and #gamma

Bloggish is (in my opinion) the most versatile and customizable S2 layout there is. One of the reasons it's so customizable is because there are four different types of layout.

One Column
Two column, sidebar on the left
Two column, sidebar on the right
Three column

wow. okay. I have no clue about Bloggish, but this seems like it means a gazillion more possibilities than other layouts. ^^

Can I bother you ? please say yes:
I understood everything you explained, but I have a major problem. (major for me, minor I'm sure for you).
I used different tutorials to make this layout : marillart
If you see the date and header entry background is blue, it should be white, but when I do that I have a problem with my icon it doesn't float it create a border around, could you help me? if not that's not a problem :) .
