hopefully this doesn't ruin things for you, but george has already requested july 4th-11th off for that wedding in vancouver.

chicago is fun, though! i love the food and shopping most of all.

and also, jennifer annoys me too and i have never even met her!

i forgot about the wedding- but luckily, i've already requested july 1 & 2, but i had planned to come back on the 5th anyway and george had mentioned how well that worked out.

i was thinking more along the lines of june 15 and june 18, so we could have a 4 day weekend. i want to shop and maybe see a concert.

you don't want to meet her. everyone has that one person at work who complains about the same thing every single day, all day long. that's her.

I've stayed at a few places and really, as long as you get on or near the mile at a price you like, you can't really go wrong. :) Have fun! It's a great city!

My tips:

1. Eat at the Grand Lux Cafe. It's so extravagant and decadent and fabulous and actually not bank breaking. The decor alone is enough to make you feel special and the menu is vast.

2. Shop State Street. The Mile is an experience for sure, but State Street is where all the deals are at. It's actually where the original Hudson's was and there are most of the same stores on State as there are on the Mile, except they all are the discount outlets. I got a dress at 1/2 off at New York and Company. I'd take a cab though, the stores are at the north side of state street.

3. See Wicked. I couldn't get into the book at all and yet both Phil and I totally dug the show. It was awesome.
