If you're losing inches but the scale hasn't moved, I'd say you're in a good place, since you gained muscle but lost enough fat not to weigh more.

One thing to keep in mind is that your body gets used to it if you keep to a certain level of food and/or exercise. Maybe you need to switch it up a little?

Your body is a tricky devil. Give it a doughnut and throw it for a loop.

Muscle weighs more than fat so as you're losing fat you're gaining muscle. This is a good thing, and you know it's a good thing BECAUSE you've lost inches and are wearing smaller clothes. We always get stuck on the numbers (me included) but it's really how you feel and how you look that are the important things. You're being disciplined and getting results - I'd say that's definitely a win!

Try to forget about the numbers. Throw your scale out the window if you have to.

Aw, thanks for the attagirl.

And I'm thinking about it. Seriously thinking about it.

Welcome.

Do it. Don't hesitate. Get a newer model, you know you want to. ;) I could use one too - I know my scale is at LEAST 15 years old, probably more, and my house is crooked so I'm sure it doesn't give an accurate weight. (I can rationalize anything.)

You developed muscles which will help you burn more calories.

When weighting yourself, it is important to do it every day/week at the same time. Of course, you are lighter in the morning after visiting the loo than after dinner.
Also make sure the scale has ONE place. Moving it will mess with its accuracy.

Awesome.

And I do. The first thing I do when I wake up is to visit the bathroom, then step on the scale.

It's also like 10 years old. Maybe that's an issue.

*laughs* Ours is 20 years old. I actually only use it to see if I lost or gained weight. Never to actually determine my weight.

I too, had plateaued for 3 weeks(previous to this one!) and my diet counsellors had me add extra protein to my diet(a whopping "maybe" 100calories per day?) and last week I lost 3.6lbs. Weird. But its true, our bodies do get VERY comfortable, VERY quickly.

It gained the weight easily enough, you'd think it would be alright with letting it go!
