I like to pretend that I'm still young and hip and cutting edge. But let's face it. It's a sham. I've been putting an a false face to all of you for some time now. I'm living a lie, and it's time for me to come clean

Your text problem is the memory. Do you have a memory card? If not you may as well just give up on the phone now. They need one. Also, once a day, holding down the shift (up/down arrow on the pearl I believe) & while holding it down, type L G L G. It'll bring up a list of stuff & then use the Blackberry menu button to delete it all. After you do that, take the battery out & let it restart. If you have too many apps, that's also going to use up the memory & the phone won't work well. I had a pearl for a few years & now I have a curve. For some reason the BB is a lot of work!
The Crackberry Pearl is a POS. Everyone I know who has had one hates(hated) it with about as much enthusiasm as yourself. I looked at the iPhone, but decided that the HTC Fuze would be a better fit for me... but you, not necessarily needing to remote into equipment from your phone and use a VPN client, should find the iPhone a perfectly viable phone.
Or you could check out the HTCs. I like my Fuze. The successor to the Fuze is called the Tilt2, but if you don't need an actual keyboard, then you can probably go with the HTC Pure, which is a bit like a iPhone, only not a MacIntosh. :-D
Also, I think Ethan may be correct in stating that you have a bit more experience on the stage than Blakely. :-D
It sounds like the phone has issues, not the user. I used to work in the warranty department for AT&T and those phones are bad news. I would tell Nolan to get you an iPhone, for sanity. lol. iPhones are really hand and easy to use.
