Meals for new mom

May 11, 2010 14:21

hey all, my friend Kristen just had a new baby (#2 this is the mom to my sweet Emma who I adore and used to watch). I'm bringing her  some food, but can't think of anything besides spaghetti. She is also not eating dairy. I can't think of anything that isn't spaghetti or just meat that doesn't have dairy.

Ideas? Thanks, y'all

How about a pot roast with veggies? That is easy and good.

Well, the problem is I have never made one so I wouldn't want to give a crappy and/or poorly cooked one. I get super nervous when other people have to eat what I have made! Sounds good though, wish I was eating one!

Look at see if your grocery store has one of the tyson pre-packaged roasts. They come with chopped veggies and a seasoning packet. You throw it into the crock pot and they are really good and foolproof.

I assume it isn't going to be frozen.

Taco fixings?

Something like a Cobb Salad?

Baked chicken?

Filet Mingnons, Big baked sweet potatoes, romaine & spinach salad. After childbirth and losing all that blood, I know all I wanted was red meat!!! You could always buy one that has been pre-seasoned at Whole Foods or something.

Girl, do you think I am made of money!?! I can't even buy steak for me. I don't even have a job!

Now I am hungry though.

LOL. She would love you, though! A pork tenderloin would be yummy too. They make those preseasoned as well. (They're expensive too, though, I'm sure)

Gift card to a local restaurant or food prep service? That way she can get what she wants and when she wants it.
