ordinary lives [open post]

Sansa seems to have settled in at the Mansion. She's happy her mother and father and Robb are here, because that makes her feel safe. That's important to her.

She can currently be found in the common room of the house, sitting quietly, sewing.

Anyone is free to interrupt her. She's not always snobby, we promise.

[Because fuck it.]

Karla has been going skating, or out in the snow, pretty much every day. She comes tromping inside midway through the afternoon, shaking snow out of her ice-blonde hair. "Phew!" she says, loudly, to no one in particular. "That's bracing, it is. No wonder the males stay indoors this time of year, I bet it shrivels their balls right- oh, hello!"

Sansa sits straight up and stares for a moment, mouth open, before speaking.

"Hello," she says, a bit cautiously, frowning a little.

Karla has no idea what you're looking at her like that for, Sansa. She waves a bit of a hand. "Sorry for bringing the cold in," she says. "You look awfully cozy. Hold on a moment-" She holds up a hand, and the snow on her shoulders very quickly melts and then evaporates in a small cloud of steam. "--much better. Well now. Either you're new or I'm more of a recluse than I meant to be."

"I'm not that new," Sansa protests lamely. "But I haven't been here for winter yet."

She pauses.

"I"m Sansa Stark."

Speak of the brother...

Robb pokes his head in from outdoors, a wolf somewhere around his hip. "Sansa," he calls, "Is that you? Come on outside! It's just like-"

Like home. Which makes his voice catch for a moment.

D'awww, Robb.

Sansa grins when she sees her brother. "Robb! How have you been?" She gets up to go to the door, ignoring the fact that it's probably cold out and she's only got her dress on and no coat--she doesn't mind, not anymore.

Cold is a welcome feeling for her.

:D? says Robb. To Sansa, mostly. And as she comes over to the door, admonishes, "Get a cloak," rather sternly, because sisters, they are not allowed to freeze, nope, never. "I'm - well. Come out and see for yourself! Watch out I don't throw snowballs at you, though," he adds, teasingly.

Grey Wind shoves half of his body in through the door, stretching out his nose to greet Sansa.

Sansa giggles at Grey Wind and pets him before turning back inside.

"I'll only be a minute!" she calls out over her shoulder, hurrying to find a warm coat.

When she finds something cozy to wear--ooh, it's fur-lined and soft--she puts it on and heads outside.

Sansa might notice a young boy come toddling into the room, followed closely by his mother. Lystra would much rather be outside, actually, but she doesn't like to have Tyan out in the cold for too long. Once her son's plonked himself down and started playing on the rug, she sits down on a nearby couch and sighs.

She's bored and a bit tired.

Oh, a child. Sansa is intrigued. She stops her sewing and looks up.

"Hello. Is he yours? He's very cute," she says, trying hard to be polite.

"He is," Lystra says. Usually she would be gushing about someone calling her son cute, but today she's bored. She probably sounds a bit exhausted.

Sansa looks concerned.

"Are you tired?" she asks.

Because he needs to get out more... Will is heading into the common room with a bag of coffee in his hand, whistling to himself. He's planning to make coffee in a pot over the fire, and that always puts him in a good mood. And he has his border collie following along at his heels, like usual.

A dog! Sansa sits up.

"What a pretty dog you have," she says, smiling widely. She can't help it--the dog reminds her a little of home, even if it's not a direwolf.

Will grins. "That'll go straight to her head."

"Well, it should! She's really lovely." Sansa laughs a little.

At some point, a slightly rough-looking fellow in a long, brown leather coat over an earth-colored shirt and tight britches might enter, carrying an armload of split logs, which he dumps into the log box by the hearth with a somewhat unceremonious and loud *thud* before straightening up to brush snow and bits of bark off his coat. It's likely enough noise to jolt Sansa out of any reveries.

Sansa jumps a little in her seat, a bit frightened.

"Oh!" she exclaims, looking over to the source of the sound.

"Don't mind me: wood box needed fillin', an' the logs slipped outta m' grip," he replies, apologizing without really ingratiating himself.

"--Oh," she replies lamely. "Are you all right?"
