When he came back so suddenly, it took Adrian a while to adjust; he isn't there, yet. Truth be told, he feels quite lonely. There's no one in the room to keep him company - he doesn't even remember that Natalie used to live with him, that they used to be happy and make love and have fun here, in that very room. A feeling, he does get. A gut feeling ( Read more... )

Elves are generally hard to hear, and we assume that the music isn't going to help with that.

So that's what's going to happen: Elured and Elurin will sneak behind Adrian, then glomp him merrily.

"You!" Says one. "Slacker," says the other.

They're good-natured enough not to resent him, but he's going to get a fuzzing and some roughhousing for having missed practice for what, months? The twins insist that he absolutely deserves it.

Adrian's natural instincts tell him to shake off the enemy - or enemies, in this case - but his common sense prevents him from doing so. He just turns around quickly and faces the pair; of course he's taken aback by their ressemblance, as much as by their merriness.

"Um -- hi. What are you talking about? Why do you call me that?"

"Because if you've trained all winter, then we don't know the first thing about it," Elured replies, and Elurin adds, "We almost wondered if you got angry with us, at one point. But then we figured you were busy with other things."

Like girls.

Adrian shrugs, his face suddenly darkening. "I was away, it seems. Vanished. Gone."

Robin was stepping out for a smoke, and perhaps the scent of kretek will be familiar to Adrian? At any rate, here's a puck, smoking Indonesian cigarettes, nursing a glass of Cointreau, for a change.

And he might poof by Adrian's side, only announced by the scent of his smoke, and drawls, simply, with slight sarcasm, "Well look what the cat dragged in."

He's used to people disappearing and reappearing - or was, back in the days of New York, the Pyramids and helpful peris. Now it's lake, Mansion and shinigamis, but Robin is used to it.

We wish Adrian would find something familiar, even slightly, around; unfortunately this doesn't happen. Till now. There is still hope.

"What? Where?" he replies in the same vein, making a face and looking around him in mock!surprise.

"On the porch," Robin replies wryly. "Something about a moroi turning up again."

He arches an eyebrow. "That was quite the disappearing act you did there, Adrian."

"It must be quite a strong cat, if it's able to carry a Moroi," comments Adrian dryly. But heyyy, this guy knows stuff. "As for the disappearance, I've been informed; in all possible ways, actually."

He thinks of his encounter with Natalie and shivers.

Hisoka would be standing on the slope below the house, where there is a clear view of the lake. It's waters reflect the deep mysterious blue of the twilight sky as well as the dark shapes of the trees on its far side. He tucks his hands into the pockets of his jean jacket, breathing the cool air.

Oh well, another wanderer? Adrian is sure this one hasn't got his issues - lucky him. He'll still approach the stranger; and at a second glance, he's not even a stranger.

"Hi."

"Hello, Adrian," says Hisoka. "Nice evening, huh?"

"Hisoka." It's amazing he can remember the young man's name. "I should think so. What are you up to?"
