Morgana does not understand.

She does not understand how her life has changed so drastically in the past few days.  She does not understand why everyone around her is falling asleep.  She does not understand why she is still standing.

She does not understand what any of this has to do with the pact she made with Morgause.  She does understand ( Read more... )

The old man that is on his way inside, probably to visit friends, looks nothing like the Merlin Morgana knows. He's, for one, much too old - but even if that younger Merlin were to age drastically, he would not look like this one. In fact, this Merlin looks much more like Gaius.

He may or may not know who this is - but he can feel that something is odd about the woman on the porch.

"Lass?"

Don't worry about spoiling me, even though my knowledge of the show is very very tangential. <3 And let me know what degree you want of healing and stuff. I suspect this old geezer will not be giving her his name, btw. He's slippery that way. XD

He looks nothing like the Merlin she knows, but at least the attire, and the manner remind her of what she knows.

She tries to take a breath, but it's extremely difficult. She looks back and forth -- the porch nothing like the throne room from which she was just taken. There's also fear on a multitude of levels. The first is her breath. The second is about the new location. The third about why someone who has been nothing but her friend would do such a thing.

It may sound odd, but all she can get out expresses her concerns perfectly, "why?"

The fact that a) it's cold and b) the lady isn't breathing normally alerts Merlin to the fact that adequate actions mush be taken duly. "This is the Mansion," he says, reaching for the lady. "And many mysteries here go unexplained. "Lass, if you do not let me help you, you may die."

He'll try to guide her inside.

The mention of dying does not look like it shocks her as it should. No, dying she's already figured out, but it is the why that most distresses her.

Considering Morgana can barely catch any breath, it says a lot about her stubbornness (or magic, who knows) that she's able to stumble inside. Though she isn't physically capable of making it much past the main foyer.

And she isn't capable of walking and talking at the same time, by this point.

When she's no longer in a fright, should Morgana venture out on the snowy grounds, she may come across a slightly familiar sight.

There is an archer, aiming at a target, releasing the arrow, re-arming, repeating the motions.

Tristan never misses - and he has his trusty bow to blame for it, it is true, but he also has his training.

I swear, that's from Beroul, not the movie! XD

Now this is a familiar sight, a man in training. Morgana has spent many hours watching such things (though propriety will prevent her from explaining why), and while she is rather skilled with a sword, she has never mastered archery.

In Camelot, those in training never minded when a lady observed. She hopes this will be the same here. She politely applauds, both announcing her presence and showing admiration for his skill.

Tristan finishes his movement and brings down his bow as the arrow hits the bull's eye with a resounding thud.

He inclines his head, almost bowing. His tone is very polite.

"My lady."

"Sir," Morgana's used to being addressed with such manners.

"You are an excellent archer."

If Morgana is roaming the hallways, she might bump into a violet-eyed young man with a noble bearing, walking along the hallway, lost in thought.

Titus has a lot on his mind, but he's only too willing to introduce himself to someone new and get his mind off his whirling thoughts.

Morgana is trying to work out the ways around the mansion. It's always important to know the ways in and out of things, as she's done so often at the palace. Still, she finds herself getting turned around easily. It's odd given she's always lived in large and complicated buildings.

Still, when she sees the young man, her manners, and her pride force her to appear both calm, and not lost. "Good day to you sir."

He doesn't quite startle out of his troubled reverie, but he does look up rather suddenly. "Oh, forgive my, my lady, I was rather lost in my thoughts and I did not hear you approach," he says. "I am Master Titus Groan, formerly of Gormenghast."

With a title and formal introduction, Morgana is put at ease. She nods her head appropriately, as given her status in Camelot, there is only two that she should defer to.

Granted, she doesn't defer to either, but she is supposed to.

"Lady Morgana of Camelot. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

If Morgana should go to explore the grounds of the Mansion and head toward the stables, she may find a tall, sturdy man in a distinctive brown leather duster busy hammering at the ice in a water trough, with the back of the head of a hatchet.

Mal has found ways to keep busy: he's been cleaning out the box stalls regularly and lunge-lining some of the more restless horses, but he'd be the first to admit he's gotten a touch of cabin fever here.

Horses are of a particular interest to Morgana. She's as skilled a horsewoman as she is with the blade, so taking a few moments out of the strangeness of the mansion, Morgana is enjoying the stables.

She picks a particular well-formed mare, and takes a moment to stroke her neck, softly telling the creature how pretty she is.

Paying little attention to the groom, she presumes, is not rude. In fact, distracting them from their duties unless she intended to go for a ride she always thought rather rude.

By this point, Mal comes in carrying a fair-sized bale of hay, plunking it down and preparing to break it apart, when he spots the newcomer. He straightens up, smiling on her and just watching her for a moment before speaking.

"Looks like y' found yerself a new friend: think she likes y'."

Morgana continues petting the mare, and does not look at the groom. "She is lovely. Would you know whose she is?" Anyone who would select such a lovely creature Morgana would like to meet.

Somewhere inside, Morgana might come across a young woman who is calmly sketching a flower on a pad. It's actually not exactly a flower - it's the idea of a flower, very abstract, almost something like a mad doodle.

Scheherazade is humming quietly to herself, peacefully. Not everything is as perfect as she would like it to be, but then again, nothing ever can be. She's come to accept that peaceably.

Exploring the mansion is a unique opportunity. Morgana's always lived in vast buildings, but has never felt so turned around as she does in this one.

This is why she sounds a bit confused when she asks, "Pardon me but could you tell me where I am?"

She's a little quieter than normal. She did almost die upon arrival.

vizir_daughter February 27 2011, 23:18:52 UTC
Scheherazade looks up from her drawing, smiles politely at the young lady addressing her.

"This is one of the many reading rooms of the Mansion," she replies. "I do hope that is what you were asking, though... Were you looking for a specific destination?"

"No, I was meaning the room," Morgana peeks back out into the hall. It looks like so many of the other hallways that she figures that is why she is turned around.

"I have yet to be able to get my bearing for this place," on a multitude of levels.
