[Open Post] The Sun Always Rises

Dec 22, 2010 19:57

Although everything around is quiet and covered in snow, Genkai can still still feel everything around her. The animals hibernating, the fish underneath the frozen lakes, even the plants. They are not dead, just waiting for their time to come back.

She sighs for a moment and briefly looks up. Outside is far more peaceful than that mansion. She has ( Read more... )

If Genkai is out after sunset, maybe she will come across a lady vampire on the Mansion grounds. She could fly to her destination, but she feels like being leisurely, and so she is instead gliding over the mounts of snow, a basket on her arm.

Pandora is keeping to her habits: she likes to surprise her beloved with midnight lunches.

Genkai is out after sunset. The sky is cold. The sky is a more vivid midnight blue when it's cold out. The stars shine more. The Old Huntress is at peace... until she senses Pandora. The Vampire... the great one, the powerful one.

Her eyes twitch to read her presence. But she merely stands up straight. She may be Genkai, but you pay your respects anyway.

Pandora really doesn't think you should worry about paying your respects so much, Genkai, really. She just does what she can to keep safe those who need it, but that's nothing a concerned citizen wouldn't do, really.

When she spots the old lady, she nods politely, her gliding coming to a stop.

"Good evening." Her voice is calm, poised, almost ethereal.

Tell that to her senses, which are going into overdrive. Besides, humans are difficult creatures. Genkai should know, she's one herself. (Mostly.) Her eyes stop twitching, and she commands herself to not look into this womans head.

"Good Evening." She replies, down-to-earth, but certainly not ordinary.

Remy's just walking, this much snow still pretty unusual to a man used to southern winters. It's cold but pretty, so he figures he may as well enjoy it since he hasn't got anything else in particular to do. He's got his hat on and has his duster cluched close around him, and he's glad of the boots he found in a closet before he went out. He's not too surprised to find himself not alone when he spots Genkai outside and gives her a friendly wave.

Genkai can probably feel the power hovering just below the surface of the ordinary looking young man from where she stands.

Genkai waves back at the man, but not without shaking her head.

Static, just lots and lots of static.

He raises his eyebrows at the headshaking, not realizing that she was trying to scan him. "Hello," he says as he wanders along, wanting to be polite to the grandmotherly looking woman.

"Good day." Genkai utters, still blinking.

Despite the static, Genkai can still read something about him. Human, but there's... something, it isn't supernatural in nature. Rather...

A mutation?

River is wandering between the trees, her big combat boots keeping her feet out of the snow and appearing untouched by the cold despite the floaty dress she wears under the ill-fitting coat she scavanged from a closet in concession to the weather. It's probably a man's coat, and too big for her. She seems much more interested anyway in the icicles and snow edging the bare branches of the trees than any cold she might be feeling.

Genkai is mostly focused upon the quiet (and mentally soothing) beauty of winter. Until she is interrupted by Rivers presence.

Her mind is fragmented, like a person that is mentally ill. (There are a couple like that in the mansion, as Genkai has noticed, including a man-child and a grown-up porcelain doll. But this one...

River straightens up after a minute, turning to face Genkai, hands clasped behind her back. She doesn't speak at first, just watches Genkai. Outwardly quiet, in contrast to the chaos of what's left of her mind.

She looks back at River, she decides to try relaying a message to her mentally: Child. Can you tell me who you are? The thought is calm and patient.

Genkai isn't counting on a response. Usually when people have minds like these, they can't respond. Or at least coherently.

And here's Merlin, back to his usual appearance - the geezer is hanging out, contemplating the cold and white landscape.

He doesn't mind company or solitude, and is focused on observing the smoke which is quietly oozing out of his pipe.

If one pays attention to it, they might notice that it is in fact moving, as if it were alive - this is because Merlin is playing with it and shaping it somewhat.

As Genkai is walking, she senses the familiar presence. It's subdued this time, but she knows it, she's played with it once.

"Merlin?" She asks.

The wizard tilts his head, he looks almost amused. "Genkai."

Of course he knows her - he remembers as well.

Now this is awkward. It's rally hard to believe that the playful boy she met as a smart-alex,(borderline reckless) teenage girl, is actually the unassuming old wizard she met the first day.

"I never knew you were so playful once."

Genkai will likely sense a sudden dip in the spirit energy, as the resident energeic black hole emerges, out to enjoy the bracing winter weather. If she sees him from the back, he'll likely blend in with the snow, since he's turned the furred collar of his winter greatcoat up around his neck and the back of his head.

Muraki is in good spirits, despite the fact that the days are now getting longer again: it's just past a full moon, though unfortunately, he missed the total eclipse that happened on the solstice. For once, the moon was red and he had nothing to do with it.

Genkai would almost frown at the dip, but doesn't.

She already has a nickname for you, Muraki. Leech. It's not meant to be derogatory, it's merely what you are to her.

Psychics aren't particularity fond of Energy Vampires, they feel that they don't work for anything and yet absorb everything in sight, breaking the balance, which is what many in Genkai's school tried to achieve.

But Genkai has never been a normal psychic, so she is open to accepting.

She narrows her eyes at him.

Spotting Genkai, he turns and bows deeply to her. "Good day, Oba-san, I hope it isn't too cold for you," he says. He senses something odd about her, but for the moment, he's not sure just what she is.

"No, I rather like the cold..." Everything isn't shouting at her or talking to her, merely whispering.

"Now, now. Call me Genkai."

Muraki better call her that, she nearly killed herself to get that name, and beat up an entire dojo of her own colleagues in order to keep it.

Besides, only Yusuke and Kuwabara are allowed to call her 'Oba-san'.
