This Isn't My Castle (Uther-intro)

Nov 14, 2010 00:19

He walks back into the castle much relieved, able to rest knowing that Camelot and Arthur are both safe. Part of him wonders why he was not brought proof of the dragon's death, but right now, he is rather tired and it doesn't rattle his mind as much as it probably should. The air is still heavy with smoke and there are still a couple of fires ( Read more... )

As luck would have it, one of the Mansion's resident magical practitioners -- and preternatural entities -- is coming along the hallway, fresh from making up more ofuda, spells painted onto slips of paper to summon and bind protective spirits. Tsuzuki is still clad in a green and white kimono and the incense from the accompanying ceremonies is still clinging to him. He's in a fittingly mellow frame of mind -- till now, when the yelling and the medieval-looking gent with the sword jar him out of his reverie.

"Whoa-what? Err, I'm sorry to hear that, sir, but it wasn't me that did it," he says, hands raised disarmingly.

I'll send Parsifal along eventually...

Uther's a bit riled. He knows he isn't in Camelot, so his rules about killing magic users don't apply. He can't just cut the guy down for admitting he uses it.

"Do you know who did?" he growls.

"Ah, that's the thing: no one knows how anyone who ends up here got here in the first place," he says, slightly on the spot. "It could be magic, it could be something wacky in the way the world works.

"So, uh, who do I have the honor of addressing?"

"King Uther Pendragon, of Camelot" comes the reply. "And I intend to find out who did it. I do not like magic being used against me."

Here's a pair of lovely identical young men who might, from a distance, be vaguely reminiscent of Arthur.

They're sparring energetically on the yard, and whenever Uther's settled etc, perhaps he can come across them.

They're human-sized, have human blood, but if you look at them closely, their angelic beauty and pointy ears might hint to their uncanny heritage.

Merlin'll be along shortly. I'm planning to open-post Gwen eventually, so she can probably wait. Gawain's fate is currently uncertain, I'm not sure Tristan would be relevant at all to Uther, but if you think so, I can send him too. ^^

He notices the boys, they do look human, and at the moment, he's too focused to really notice the ears. He's still tense about this place, even after a few explanations. He wants a way out.

If the boys have noticed their onlooker, they don't seem to mind.

"Ah ha! I've got you, Feanorian scum," one of them says, laughing.

The other parries, and pushes his brother back. "You will not have me so easily, Sindar whelp!"

And the laughter is almost too much to bear, they're in fact not doing very well with the practice.

Uther, meet the great-grandson of another Uther Pendragon from an alternate universe.

Melou is currently on the porch, being even broodier than usual after what happened with his uncle, sitting silently and glaring at everyone who walks past.

(grr this should've posted last night. Not sure what happened)

Uther just sort of glares back, he's still in a uncomfortable mood about this place. He has a strong feeling it's magic, and it makes him nervous. Plus, he's not used to being glared at; it's disrespectful. There's something curious about the boy, but it's passing; as he's not the same Uther, he wouldn't see a resemblence at all.

Melou doesn't like being glared back at. His glare intensifies.

"Is there a problem?"

"It just isn't exactly polite" comes the reply. "Especially since my royal status is clear." The robes are hard to mistakte for anything else. To back up the point, he says "I am Uther Pendragon, king of Camelot."

Uther, meet another of your family members from an alternate universe. This one's lounging around in a common room somewhere, drinking wine straight from a bottle he found in the kitchen. He is (fortunately) not yet drunk.

Uther's glad to find some wine. He isn't the type to get drunk and pass out, but he's well known for his wine habit. He needs a bit of a buzz-although he's never heard that term used-to relax a bit with all this.

Unfortunately, Agravain is probably not going to share his wine. Sharing would be the considerate thing to do, and Agravain prides himself on being an asshole.

"Greetings," he says, when he sees Uther, and then he takes another gulp of wine.

"Is there more of that around?" Uther doesn't particularly want to share; in Camelot he could probably, but things are more confusing here. He's annoyed, too, because he really has no power and he doesn't like it.

This one has nothing to do with Arthurian Myth. It's not going to stop him, however, from staring at Uther, whenever he meets him.

...

"Nathan Wallace? Is this a costume party?"

Also, you're supposed to be dead. Like Mag. OH WELL.

Uther just stares back. He doesn't know her, and isn't sure why she called him that name. "I am simply dressed as I normaly am."

GraveRobber smirks and finds this absolutely hilarious. "I had no idea that you had a sense of humor. That's revolutionary."

Psssst, he's I MEANT MALE, and visibly so. XD So sorry, words are hard. >.
