For once in Misa's life, she feels... whole. Light is here with her, and although he doesn't return her affection, it's nice just to have him here with her. Misa can't see her life without him, honestly.
She also has found another reason to stay here, she met a lovely opera singer who gave her a opportunity to dance again. Misa has been dancing

In typical fashion, she's muttering a little to herself--thinking out loud--as she walks. "I don't know if I should stay inside so much today. It's very nice outside, and we won't have a lot of nice days before winter. Where do all the birds go if we're not part of the rest of the world?" She stops just inside the door, then blinks in surprise to see Misa there already.
"I'm so sorry!"

One year of monk-like work and of solitude only interrupted by a few encounters and his best friend's companionship. He may be burying himself in work, but he's just as emo as usual.
Hence the aimless exploring that takes him to the room where Misa is dancing.
