Iphigenia is currently in the common room, reading a history book. She yawns and turns the page, making a face. She's getting a little bored of it--surprise, surprise--and would enjoy any sort of company. Perhaps she might like a certain Earl (or a certain ~kitchen rat~; might as well include him, considering >.>) to come by, but she's not

Of course Steerpike (oblivious to Iphigenia's infidelities, thankfully) will be happy to entertain her.

He comes by and bows, then looks at her interestedly, head tilted. "My lady - it has been a while, has it not?"

He's been busy making himself a scholar. So that he could be ~worthy~. (That's his excuse, anyway.)

"The gods and the Stones both," he says. "But if you do hear such terrible things of which he accuses me, do tell me? For they were quite preposterous."

"Of course," she says, nodding. "I don't like slander at all."

Steerpike nods, and tugs her into an impetuous embrace. "Thank, you, my lady. Oh, but how you have my heart."

[ohmaiden]

"--Really?" she asks shyly.

"Yes, my lady," he replies fervently.

Afhdsjkfhdsjfds bluuuuush.

"You're very kind."

"I only mean to tell you what is in my heart, my lady," he says with all apparent honesty.

She looks down and then up again, shyly.

"--You're good to me. I--I like that."

He gives her a (relatively honest) smile. "But you deserve nothing less, my lady."

[ohmaiden]

"I think you deserve things too..."

Oh, good, so does he. Just small things, you know. LIKE RULING THE WORLD.

"Is that so, my lady?" His tone is humble.

[ohmaiden]

She nods. "...Yes," she says quietly. "Like...love." She looks down again, feeling awkward now.

"Love, my lady?" He looks completely awed.

[ohmaiden]

"--You deserve love, that's all."

[not_snake_bite]

.... He pauses, and gives her a little smile as he kisses her hand, apparently speechless.
