[introduction] Here the story ends at last... or not.

Enide had never known such happiness.

When she was new-wed, perhaps, and filled with fresh love for her lord, and he with love for her. When they had spent each day together, close in body, heart, though it had near ruined him.

But their trials had made it sweeter, somehow. Cemented their passion through shared fear, heightened their devotion through ( Read more... )

It's not like Isolde didn't cry on him either.... myrddin_wyllt July 14 2010, 13:25:40 UTC
The hermit wanders on the tail end of Enide's comment, and sighs to himself.

"Come now, my lady," he ventures quietly. "Your dream is real enough, aye."

He bows a little, he can tell she is of high birth, though they've never met.

I'm going to be slow as molasses, but here he is anyway. Merlin will do everything he can to help her, so feel free to assume all the bare necessities have been dealt with in your subsequent subthreads.

And I am embarrassed to admit that I have never read Erec and Enide, so out of curiosity, what roles do Gwen and Gawain play in that tale? (They'll be along in a bit, I need to get to work now.) &hearts

She watches the old man with some trepidation. He doesn't look dangerous, or anything such thing, but this is very strange.

"I do not see how that can be so, sir," she says, politely, "For only this morning I was in my own lands."

welll Gwen gives Enide prettiful clothes & looks after her when Erec brings her to court for the first time & they are generally friendly. And she is kinda the reason Erec and Enide meet in the first place since Erec is chasing a Bad Knight who attacked one of Gwen's handmaidens when he meets Enide. Gawain is Generally Around (as he is in Arthurian legend) & is friends with Erec. He also escorts Enide to the palace for her coronation <3 Gawain <3. Is that the kinda stuff you wanted to know? also I hope that makes sense words + tired brain = whut

"Aye, my lady, so it was, and yet here you are," he sighs, looks at her kindly enough.

"I am the Merlin," he tells her calmly. "And like you, a prisoner of this place, alas."

That's perfect, thanks for ye information! ^^

She's silently freaking out a bit. Has she been taken prisoner by someone? An enemy of her husband?

"A prisoner, sir?" she says, "This place does not seem a prison - might I not leave, if you would kindly point the way?"

If she ventures onto the lawn to the east, she might spy a tall, fair-haired man in slightly rustic garments, carrying a rolled-up rug over his shoulder. He pauses and smiling bows to her. "The Lord be with you and good morrow, milady," he says. "Welcome to the Mansion."

She's wandering, now. Merlin will have informed her that she's trapped here, away from her husband, and it's taken its toll. She looks shaken, upset, uncertain. But she keeps her voice as steady as she can.

"Likewise, sir," she replies, because she is good at polite, "I thank you for the welcome."

"It is an honor to cross paths with and to greet a lovely lady such as you," he says, bowing again. "I am Sir Parsifal, vassal of His Highness King Arthur, Knight of the Brotherhood of the Grail, and bearer of the Sacred Lance. Who, then, do I have the honor of meeting on this sunlit day?"

She brightens a bit. "I regret that your name is unfamiliar to me, sir. But I know the name of your king, for he is mine also. I am Queen Enide of Farther Wales, wife of King Erec. I spent time at the court of King Arthur, for he loves my husband well."

Should she happen into the kitchen some time, that is where Icarus can be found. He's got food and is putting the last touches on some small cupcakes he's made for, well, whoever wants them. The smell of baking is all over and his hair and face are dusted with flour, though he's totally unaware of that.

I'm sorry, but I love sending Iggy to the more ....religious sorts.

She's been moving around almost in a daze - perhaps if she wanders enough, she'll find her way home, or her husband will be here, somewhere. She notices Iggy immediately as she enters the kitchen, and her hand goes over her mouth in shock. An angel - the Lord has sent - what did that mean?

"Mercy, sir," she cries, "Oh - mercy - do you bring message from God?"

"Ah!" Iggy's startled by her cry and winds up dropping the knife he'd been icing the cupcakes with while all of his feathers stand on end.

"Don't sneak up on me like that!" He turns towards her voice, trying to relax. "Calm down." That's it. He's going to start wearing a sign.

"I did not mean to startle you," she looks and sounds quite horrified now, did she just offend an angel, omg, "I ask forgiveness of you. I only wished to know what God has sent you here to say - whether he meant anything by sending me to this place."

Should Enide find her way inside, she'll certainly find a young man enjoying a captivating book, sprawled on a couch in the living room - common room - er, large room where all people bump into each other.

Enide is not going anywhere in particular as she moves through the common room. And this man is obviously busy, so she will not disturb him. She'll go to pass the couch, however, within easy speaking distance.

Well, one thing Adrian Ivashkov certainly possesses is a pair of scrutinizing eyes that can identify a beautiful woman from afar. "Why hi there," he says, rising his eyes over the book. "Are you new here?"

"Good day, sir," she replies, tilting her chin regally, "I have indeed arrived only this morn."

Once Enide is settled, she might come across an Arthurian knight whom she has never met (though perhaps she heard of him?) - Tristan is on his way to the home he is making for Isolde and carrying a heavy bag of carpentry tools.

These are only a few simple repairs: for the larger matters, he intends to ask Parsifal, given a chance.

He's not in armor, and is wearing a simple tunic, though his sword is at his back and he has a couple other pointy objects concealed. He's going to the woods and knows that they can be full of dangers.

Most likely she has heard of him! A Tristan is mentioned in passing as being present at one of the feasty-things. Plus de Troyes can't shut up about him and Isolde in the narrative, alas.

Enide is walking to the woods herself. She's rather desperate at the moment, and half intending on trying to find a way through them and out of this place, though she has neither weapons nor provisions.

"Good day, sir," she says as she sees him, politely, meeting his eye.

Tristan pauses on his way, bows. "My lady," he says, by way of greeting. "Good day to you."

His instinct is to ask what an unescorted dame is doing alone in the woods - the only thing that stops him is his personal knowledge of a witch who does exactly this and refuses protection.

He wouldn't want to be offensive - and his demeanor says exactly that.

She gives him a little nod in response. Pauses a moment, then speaks.

"Do you know anything of these woods, sir? Is there any path?"
