Enide had never known such happiness.
When she was new-wed, perhaps, and filled with fresh love for her lord, and he with love for her. When they had spent each day together, close in body, heart, though it had near ruined him.
But their trials had made it sweeter, somehow. Cemented their passion through shared fear, heightened their devotion through

"Come now, my lady," he ventures quietly. "Your dream is real enough, aye."
He bows a little, he can tell she is of high birth, though they've never met.
I'm going to be slow as molasses, but here he is anyway. Merlin will do everything he can to help her, so feel free to assume all the bare necessities have been dealt with in your subsequent subthreads.
And I am embarrassed to admit that I have never read Erec and Enide, so out of curiosity, what roles do Gwen and Gawain play in that tale? (They'll be along in a bit, I need to get to work now.) &hearts

"I do not see how that can be so, sir," she says, politely, "For only this morning I was in my own lands."
welll Gwen gives Enide prettiful clothes & looks after her when Erec brings her to court for the first time & they are generally friendly. And she is kinda the reason Erec and Enide meet in the first place since Erec is chasing a Bad Knight who attacked one of Gwen's handmaidens when he meets Enide. Gawain is Generally Around (as he is in Arthurian legend) & is friends with Erec. He also escorts Enide to the palace for her coronation <3 Gawain <3. Is that the kinda stuff you wanted to know? also I hope that makes sense words + tired brain = whut

"A prisoner, sir?" she says, "This place does not seem a prison - might I not leave, if you would kindly point the way?"

"Likewise, sir," she replies, because she is good at polite, "I thank you for the welcome."

"Mercy, sir," she cries, "Oh - mercy - do you bring message from God?"

"Don't sneak up on me like that!" He turns towards her voice, trying to relax. "Calm down." That's it. He's going to start wearing a sign.

These are only a few simple repairs: for the larger matters, he intends to ask Parsifal, given a chance.
He's not in armor, and is wearing a simple tunic, though his sword is at his back and he has a couple other pointy objects concealed. He's going to the woods and knows that they can be full of dangers.

Enide is walking to the woods herself. She's rather desperate at the moment, and half intending on trying to find a way through them and out of this place, though she has neither weapons nor provisions.
"Good day, sir," she says as she sees him, politely, meeting his eye.

His instinct is to ask what an unescorted dame is doing alone in the woods - the only thing that stops him is his personal knowledge of a witch who does exactly this and refuses protection.
He wouldn't want to be offensive - and his demeanor says exactly that.

"Do you know anything of these woods, sir? Is there any path?"
