Ines pauses, observing - she's at this point accepted that things will be more than odd here. It's the afterlife, after all.

She's wickedly amused by what Gellert is doing - and simply enjoying the show, for now.

[OOC: Aaaand someone new for a change - she's blunt, rude, and enjoys it. Have fun?]

She looks curious. "I suppose so, but I have no scissors with me..."

He shakes his head. "No need for that," he picks up an end of her hair - if she'll let him - then flicks his wand toward it, easily cutting a small lock off with a simple severing charm.

"Effective," she comments, impressed inwardly, but not gawking. "And then?"

"And then...," he grins, winks and slips his wand away, holding the lock of hair in his palm then clasping both his hands together so it is hidden from view. He murmurs some words under his breath and makes some movements with his hands, keeping them together.

After about a minute he opens them, palms upward. Each seperate hair begins to stir, growing in size then from each springs a set of feelers and legs and finally wings before each takes off into the air in a small cloud of different coloured butterflies.

Ines blinks. And then again.

"-- impressive," she replies. (And a little bit freaky, if she were to admit that sort of thing to herself.)

"How did you do that?"

"Magic," he grins. "But as to specifics? There's no point telling you as you wouldn't be able to do it."

"That's a very utilitarian perspective," she points out. "What about intellectual curiosity?"

"Magic is a natural ability in my world. If I say certain words or make certain gestures I can make things happen, as I've just shown. If a person doesn't have magical power it simply won't work."

"I see. So what exactly is the function of those word or gestures, for you?"

ggrindelwald May 25 2010, 03:27:18 UTC
"Different words or gestures create different spells."

"And would - for example - a slip of the tongue affect your spell?"

ggrindelwald May 26 2010, 00:40:37 UTC
"It can, yes. Even a different emphasis can change a spell or have it not work correctly."

"Interesting. So your focus is absolutely primordial, then?"

ggrindelwald May 26 2010, 04:51:02 UTC
"If you mean it is natural, yes it is. We learn how to better focus at school and with a wand but it's naturally inside of real wizards."

"I understand. And are these 'real wizard' effectively humans?"
