[Open] Come to the Feast!

May 09, 2010 00:46

Her last conversation with Iggy has given Nellas an idea, finally, about a thank you for the bearskin and for people being her friends - and for getting to know others. Surprised as she is about herself, Nellas has found she enjoys company much more than solitude, although that is good sometimes when she needs to recharge ( Read more... )

A bewildered looking Harry wanders by. Those scents are very enticing and he finds that he is very hungry so he approaches to see what's going on.

Nellas is waiting for more guests with a plate of her own that she's clearing, wiping up juices from the meat with a piece of bread.

She peers at the newcomer curiously. "What's that in your face?" she asks with a curious expression, and a gesture to Harry, to sit and serve himself. Nellas means the glasses, though, not the scar; of those she has seen plenty, so perhaps won't even consciously notice it. "And I'm Nellas!"

"What?" Harry puts his hand to his face, wondering what was on it and what she meant. "I'm Harry... Did you make all of this?"

"The round things. I've seen people with them here. But I don't know what they are." She shrugs and smiles, and gestures to the food again. "It took me almost three days."

After all the turmoil with setting up the shop and starting to get commissions, Favrielle feels tired and weary. She decides a walk might help her clear her thoughts and perhaps charge her batteries, so she wanders out of the mansion - her hair is in slight disarray and her gown is creased, but she doesn't really care.

And apparently there's a feast afoot?

There is! And she is welcome to serve herself, says the elfgirl currently occupied with replenishing some of the food that's been consumed, and waves to Favrielle, beaming.

"There is plenty!" she calls with a beaming grin. "You can have some, it's for everybody!"

Favrielle hesitates just a second before actually launching herself toward the table(s). She is hungry, and as long as it's an open invitation -- why not?

"It smells delicious," she confesses once she gets closer to Nellas.

There is no table, the bowls and plates are all spread out on the grass, but hopefully Favrielle won't mind that? Nellas, at any rate, looks delighted to have a guest.

"Thank you," she says with a smile. "Your hair is very pretty. And you can take whatever you want!"

And here's an Ysi on request ^^!

She's been having a lot on her mind recently, mostly revolving around the topic of marriage, children, household and surprise!dragons. A good healthy walk might help her calm down, she muses, and off she takes her usual path, till the appetizing scent of well-cooked food hits her nostrils.

Seeing that woman reminds Nellas of the day in the forest, but this time she looks a lot better and less afraid, and Nellas waves to her.

"You can come here! It's all safe!" she tries to coax in case the woman is still afraid.

Isolde remembers her as well, and thinks that it's perhaps high time she corrected the misunderstanding that occurred. So she gets closer, a smile on her face. "Thank you, my lady. It does look wonderful; and it smells divine."

"I'm not a lady. Just Nellas," she corrects. Maybe that was what frightened her before, but then Nellas doesn't know how anyone could mistake her for a lady. They don't live in the forests. "I hope it tastes good, too. And you don't have to be scared. I'm sorry if I scared you."

And here is Phedre, or, in Stifler's words, Iggy's Mum. She's young, and tiny! Standing at 5'6", with a simple dress which Favrielle would likely consider god-awful. She is anything but threatening, though, and smiling in a friendly way.

And is lured to the feast, and quite admiring of Nellas' work.

"Good afternoon," she ventures. "What's all this?"

If someone is not threatening her, Nellas isn't going to be afraid either, and she bounces to her feet where she's been sitting, beaming.

"It's a feast for my friends. Iggy and Delilah gave me a bearskin," she explains, quite earnestly but with a bright twinkle of joy in her eyes. "But there's lots. I made plenty. Are you hungry?"

Phedre grins. "It's hard not to be, it smells so sweet." She looks over, intrigued. "Tell me what you've made?"

This must be Nellas, she thinks - Iggy did mention her, and of course, she would remember (she's trained for that sort of thing, being a master spy of sorts.)

"My name is Phedre - I am -- Iggy calls me his mother, and I call him my son."

Her eyes go wide at that. "Really?" She studies the woman and decides she likes her. "I've made a lot. There's bread and nuts, and birds and coneys and fish and crayfish." She points, and continues. "And mushrooms, and fiddleheads, and daylily roots..." and stops, looking embarrassed suddenly, becoming aware how wasteful she has been. "But maybe it's too much." She wibbles, and tries a smile at Phedre anyway. "You don't have to try everything."

The chapel is nearing completion, and Parsifal is on his way back to the Mansion to refill his flask with clean water when he smells the aroma of cooking in the yard and he goes to investigate. It's early for his evening meal, but he is hungry after a long day's work.

Thus there's a blond knight in woodsman's clothing approaching, pausing to take in the scene.

Nellas is currently tending a fire, but becoming aware of the steps coming toward her, she looks up and smiles, and waves at the man, a little.

"Hello."

He looks up to see her and a smile crosses his face. Bowing to her, he asks, "My lady, did you spread this table before mine eyes? Are you an angel sent to nourish the sons and daughters of the Lord?"

Nellas blinks at him, and returns the smile, but she isn't really sure what he is talking about and why he is so formal. And as always with things that she doesn't know, she withdraws a little - not too much anymore, because she doesn't want to hurt or scare anyone, but enough to show that she's a little wary.

"What lord? And are you one of his sons?"
