As soon as he realizes the game was coming to an end, that Light's fascinating plan had fallen apart, Ryuk leaves the warehouse, leaving the humans to squabble among themselves and phasing through the iron roof before vaulting

Deceptively innocent looking blonde, sitting in the main room on her feet, and reading her own book. She keeps tucking her hair back behind her ears as it falls forward, and seems quite unselfconscious - and extremely normal.

No one can say Jaenelle doesn't know how to take a break and relax every once in a while.

"It does mean I don't have to crane my neck as much," she observes, and he may notice that even if he is munching down apples, the basket does not seem to be emptying in a hurry. "So! Where'd you come from?"

He's rather surprised by that basket and actually experiments with taking out a few without eating them to see if he can't see the bottom. "Me? I was in the human world before I got there and I was on the way back to the shinigami realm when I flew into a storm. The wind was knockin' me around like a tennis ball so I flew lower and that's when I spotted this place. It looked interesting, so I let myself in through the wall to take a look around."

Yep, there's a bottom. :D Jaenelle doesn't make things that easy. "Well, then," she says pleasantly. "I think you were meant to be here. That's how it seems to work."

"Heh-heh-heh, I think yer right: things got pretty boring where I was, and this place seems interesting. Think I'll stay a while and see what happens," he says.

Jaenelle laughs, a little pleased in spite of herself. "Well, I'm glad to hear it. Though I don't know - well, we'll see. Maybe it's different for you."

"I get bored easily, but I don't see that happening here any time soon," he says. "But we'll see what happens. At least I got a steady supply of apples," he adds, picking up the basket and preparing to move on and explore his new surroundings.

She tilts her head a little, making a sad face at him. "Leaving already?"

"Maybe: I get restless and this looks like a big place," he says, looking around. "Guess I'm eager to explore and see what I can see."

She smiles, and nods a little. "All right, I can appreciate that - come back and say hello, though?"

"Sure thing," he says. "Don't think I could pass you by anyway... Yer ...what's the word? Oh yeah. Yer really cute."

She blushes, looking down, but smiles, too. "Thank you - that's sweet of you to say."

"Heh, it's the truth, too," he says. "Well, got places to check out, so be seein' yah," he says, taking the basket and leaving the room by floating through a wall...
