[Mingler] After the Solstice

Dec 27, 2013 13:21

It's been a year since the earth shook, and Phedre has been quietly brooding on the disappearance of Jaenelle and of so many others. As the year passed, so did her pain - and while there are others, now, to share her bed, she wants to honor the departed ( Read more... )

Husdent is resting in Tristan's room, and though he's worried about his dog, he does need to take time for himself. That is why the knight, who is sociable but generally not one for reveling, will be in the room.

He's brought down his harp, and is playing circumstantial melodies. He can be tapped for a chat during one of his many breaks, though.

Iphigenia may be nearby, listening, and when Tristan's finished with a song, she'll smile and wave in his direction.

"You're a lovely musician," she remarks.

His hands are resting on the harp to still the strings when the compliment reaches Tristan's ears, and he smiles in response.

"Your praise is my payment, lady," he replies. He'll stand, to bow, and will extend his hand to her.

She'll grin and take his hand, gently.

"You are truly kind and generous, then," she replies. "If I could pay you, I would."

Helen had wandered in because she was curious about the occasion - she doesn't spend much time thinking about home holidays anymore - she's accepted that this is not home, and time is different.

Still, she'll gravitate to Catelyn when she spots her, pleased for a chance to socialize again.

"Good evening," she offers, smile warm. "I see you've taken the night for yourself?"

"It is a rare occasion for me to find my son in residence," Helen replies. "I will admit I quite took the occasion when I could."

She'll indicate 11-12, who may still be around. It's quite likely he is a known face to Catelyn, as he attended the housewarming party.

Genevieve has rarely been so happy - the semester is over, she and Warren have had plenty of time to themselves, trying, and all in all, life is gorgeous.

She's out in the common room, attracted by the music and the mingling, but she's most likely keeping an eye on the staircase - she's waiting for someone special.

Warren pauses on the stairs as he comes down, hands in his pockets, to survey the decorations and everything. When he spots Genie, he comes the rest of the way down and goes over to give her a kiss in greeting. "Hey." He grins. "What's going on, delayed Christmas party?"

He's getting a kiss back, with perhaps a little more heat than usual - she's felt more alive, lately, than she had in a while. Even though they've now been trying to conceive for something like 9 months - if anything, the epic sex life is keeping her spirits up.

"Looks like it," she replies after the kiss. "Not the usual, though - remember how they used to have that magic tree?"

At least they have the epic sex life to enjoy for now, because once it works and the baby's born...

"Yeah," he says thoughtfully, looking around. "Maybe whoever did the tree...left." Not really a pleasant thought, considering the way some people have 'left' the mansion.

The scents coming from the feast of food smell delicious and 11-12, ever curious, wanders around looking at everything and trying a few things.

He's also enjoying hearing the music. He'd always liked music in its many forms and he may be humming softly under his breath to the tune of the current tune, even if he hasn't heard it before.

He may spot his mother, just as she steps away from her conversation with Catelyn Tully-Stark. "Oh, 11-12!" She'll come to kiss his cheeks, give him a hug, even. "You picked a lovely time to visit, didn't you?"

"Hi, Mum," he gives her a smile and a hug back. "Yes, it all looks amazing. How have you been?"

"I've been well," M2 replies serenely. It's quiet, but it's true. She's got 11-12, Bridget and Remy - and a practice that seems to want to flourish.

Being celibate, in a way, is almost a blessing - she's found she doesn't miss Muraki as much anymore.

"And you? How goes everything with you and Bridget?"

And here's someone you probably should meet, Erica. She's not exactly looking to mingle, but a bit, and is wandering around the buffet, taking finger foods one at a time with her cut gloves. She probably looks like she's one of those weird goth kids - since Sugar moved here, she slowly modernized her Edwardian dresses, in response to Cal's presence in her life and to her ward's acculturation.

The redhead probably smells a bit of Leandros, and we do mean the Ninja. They're family, after all, and he was just visiting, earlier, for a private celebration. She also smells of baby powder, bear grease (which she uses for her eczema) and something else, entirely different, that would be her half-Auphe lover - that's besides the point, though,

Hope this works? I can't imagine the bros not celebrating xmas, so they probably had a private gift exchange? Also it's more than likely that Soph is about as well (she's likely just wandering the party looking for shenanigans), and if you want to assume she came down with the brothers (who might ( ... )

Blink blink. She got better at this socializing thing, but Sugar remains a weird wild thing at heart.

"Huh.Sugar. No spice. Ho, hi, happy Christmas ?"
