Not that he would be particularly helpful, but he hasn't seen her since that time Fuchsia took her to his place for tea. So have a French doctor, Cathy, who might pass by, a bit distractedly.

I'm a touch leery of getting a lot of new things going, but I wanted to acknowledge the post. We can make it short, if you like :-)

"Yes, that strange spell of lengthy sunlight was worrisome to say the least: I took shelter in a cool corner of the library," she says. "And I've just put the last flourishes on my new book, which I hope to send to print very soon. It shall be a winter's tale, that I hope to share with the world come Christmas time."

"Yes, my third book has gone through many changes, and my work teaching the young people of this place to write cut into my quiet time, but it is ready to go to print," she replies. "How have you been, Mister McCloud?"

She beams. "And I would be more than happy to have you help me print this new volume," she says. "Perhaps... in trade, you could teach me to ride a horse? I had not learned, as my family's carriage horse was not saddle-trained."
