It has been a time since the Mansion experienced any type of trouble. By the Dark Lord's account, the Crafty Vala's, far too long. From the void where He is confined, He observes, awaits an opportunity. His armies may be amassing, or not, He is not ready for an onslaught just yet

Jacquel might be used to warm weather, but not a stubborn sun that's refusing to set. Right now, he's laying on the tile floor of the entry way, panting.
"Ra, ask Shu to give yer boat a puff of wind: I think yer becalmed," he mutters.

He's been keeping track of time, though, these past twenty-four hours: he's still trying to figure out his bearings, and the sun did set quite a bit earlier than it seems to want to this time. He's stepping out, cautiously, to investigate, when he hears the voice, without in fact realizing it's the dog talking.
So he'll just turn around, startled.
Ra? Ra's dead. He knows. He was there.

"Yeah, that was me, ...bitching about the heat, if you'll pardon the pun," the dog says, in a surprisingly deep (though certainly not the echoey, bombastic tone of a certain entity in a hood), and more surprisingly human voice. "Who stopped the sun moving? Anyone know?"

Who was talking to, of all people, Ra, a moment ago.
And the sun is fixed in the sky. Okay, okay, this is probably some sort of vision quest, like what Shefu inflicted on him. Okay. He can do this.
Just go with it, Daniel.
"It looks like a solar anomaly," he replies to the... dog? entity? "... I saw a sun die once, though it didn't look like this."
Pause.
"You spoke to Ra."

It bothers her more than she's willing to admit, and there will be no sleep tonight, so she was looking for something to do with herself.
Cairn's crying is what draws her to this area, and she finds herself knocking.
"Is everything alright?"
I would assume Daddy went off to make sure everyone was okay? He may show up later.

"Poor little man," she says gently. "Would perhaps moving him to a cooler room, on a lower floor, help?"
A beat.
"I'm so very sorry - I am intruding..."
The poor woman looks like she needs help, though.

Anita can feel something, but can't put her finger on it - she's been quite a bit on a nocturnal schedule, so she's actually rested, but it makes absolutely no sense that there would be so much light.
And, quite simply, something just isn't right.
She's roaming the corridors, looking for TJ, possibly already has Lukas with her at his typist's discretion and will be actively seeking her default for Jaenelle: in her absence, she's also wanting to talk to Saetan.
Because, seriously, What. And she figures if anyone has the beginning of an answer, that would be him.

This is not good. He can sense that there is craft at work, but it's something very powerful, something beyond him and yet something which smacks of corruption...

Anita just stares a moment, then will say something like, "You probably shouln't be walking out here."
A frown - she'll ask Lukas to help, if he's there.
"Let's go to the bar."
That thing doesn't have windows, so it's probably safer and more comfortable for the old geezer.

"Something or someone is causing this. But it is not the work of the house: I can sense that much," he says. "Lead me where you will: the light is sapping my strength."

But he could tell this was no normal light. There was, strangely, something dark about it. That much he could tell but little else.
He may go outside and attempt to find the source, shielding his eyes with a hand, trying to stop the blinding whiteness of it.

He's heading outside, visibly nervous, looking for Merlin, actually. (And he wants to be outside, just in case the house falls down again). He could easily be intercepted by Sebastian, though.

She's verified all her safeguards: they are indeed intact - and so there is little else she can do but offer comfort to others.

"Galadriel?" She'd sound anxious, and upset -- she's also feeling rather nauseous.

She will come across Galadriel in the hallway - whether the elf is there by serendipity or design is hard to tell.
"I am here," she says softly. "Come."
She knows already the woman needs to be tended to, and will lead her to a fresher space, the only one she can think of. One she's never set foot in, but knows of well enough.

It's clear from the dampness on her face, the heat's gotten to her: much more than it might've affected her otherwise. In fact, she's walk as if she's a little intoxicated.
"It's like the story of Joshua." It's the only other reference of the sun not doing what it was supposed to, of which Michelle is aware.
She will follow wherever led, to stay out of the heat.
