[Open] As sparks I would speed, as flame I would fly

Delilah is gently sowing skins together, yet again - her larger project has fallen behind to the smaller one's benefit, though it is also not coming along as well at it should.

She sits by the hearth, then, humming to herself in that unique throaty way that her sister taught her. She's been thoughtful, more so than usual. Events here remind her of ( Read more... )

Delilah grins a little when she sees him, even if there's lurking sadness in her eyes.

"Of course," she replies in response once she's paused in her sowing. "Have you been well?"

"I fell behind," she replies quietly, "but it will be done eventually. Not so late, I hope." A bit of a smile, and she adds, "What news?"

Iggy likes music, when it's not loud and blaring at least, and he heard the humming while out for the day. So, he's sitting a little bit away from her, eyes closed and wings tucked under a heavy coat just listening.

He's not quite hiding, but if he were to shift a bit more he would be.

She noticed him - but as he seems disinclined to approach her, she continues to hum, perhaps a little louder for his benefit, but barely so. The slow stitches (leather is hard to sow together) are not interrupted, and he can probably hear the little pricks and threading, the brushing of skins and fabric, as she works.

She's just giving him a chance to relax.

After a while more, and growing a bit more curious about the sounds and scent of what she's doing, he'll move closer. He still doesn't say anything since he doesn't want to be a pain in the butt or anything, but he's trying to work it out on his own.

She does smile a little at him, not realizing immediately that he can't see her smile. The pause in the stitching, however, might be audible - it's only a moment as she looks up, grins and resumes her work.

She might hear footsteps pass by the common area, but she may not see anything at first, but a moment later, a tall, lanky fellow with violet eyes enters, and approaches, kneeling down at a respectful distance and sitting with his ankles crossed under him as he watches her sew.

"If you don't mind my intruding, I just wanted to say, that song was lovely," he says.

Delilah colors quite a bit and smiles in response to the unknown compliment-giver. "Thank you. That's very kind of you."

She looks at him a touch curiously - she's never seen anyone like him before.

"Oh, I mean it... It reminded me a little of a lullaby my grandmother used to sing to my sister and I when we were small... What was that song, anyway, if I might ask?"

Something about her does remind him of Grandmother Shigei: she has a presence about her that just draws him to her.

She smiles, a little. "I don't know, there are many songs," she tells him. "Do you remember it at all?"

Daeron is...not having the best of weeks. And mostly still feeling withered and guilty from Merlin and Adaon's combined disapproval. Much as he is trying to tell himself it's just their opinion and he made the choice, goddammit.

He touches her shoulder lightly, having slipped in the side door, whether or not she is aware of him. "Hello, Delilah."

She looks up at him and gives him a brilliant, delighted smile. "Daeron!" And she'll stand, or turn, to embrace him.

...that helps. Delilah always helps.

He embraces her in return, smiling just a little, and kisses her cheek, respectful again - more himself than he was the last time. "I'm glad to see you," he says, which is - of course an understatement, but he lets his eyes say the rest of it.

She kisses him back, snuggles close, a bit catlike. "I'm glad to see you too - have you had a good day?"

Oh look. It's a depressed dragon.

She probably found a cave, and has been hiding there since the most recent disaster, head under her wing and feeling very sorry for herself, not even particularly bothering to make said cave nice, and it's a little too small, and so on, because really when one is feeling sorry for oneself one has to do it right.

But despite all the theatrics, she is genuinely unhappy, and it would do her good to see a friendly face.

Delilah will definitely want to visit - she might have taken some time to gank some tint, some nice covers and a basket full of shiny baubles for her friend, and she'll bravely go looking for her on a sunny afternoon.

After poking her head into several caves (some of them more dreadful than others, including a few where some hibernating bears scared the crap out of her), she continues her attempts.

"Iskierka?"

Shiny things? And braving caves? Delilah, you are a very good dragon friend, and Iskierka really likes you, or would if she were not feeling so abjectly sorry for herself.

"Go away," she says, in her unhappy dragon way. "I'm sleeping." Although she clearly isn't, given how ...well, it takes more than that to wake a really sleeping dragon.

"Oh, here you are," Delilah says, ignoring the order. "Well, I'm not going to go away right now, it's dreadfully cold out there. And I have things for you."
