There's always a way out.

Canton wonders as he leaves the Oval Office if he should be at all concerned by how well he knows the interior of the White House at this point. At least it should offer a bit of increased job security if he does stay with the Bureau, more like they wouldn't dare let him leave with everything he'd seen. He wasn't sure yet if he really wanted to ( Read more... )

Should he venture into the main room, Canton might find an attractive fellow lounging on a sofa, noshing on tangerines and sipping egg nog (bloody cravings) in between jotting in a journal (we have a feeling he's up to no good with that journal...).

Hearing that voice, he looks up, giving the newcomer a welcoming grin. "Hello yourself, you're looking a little lost."

Canton spots the journal and makes a mental note of it. That's a good idea, he should get one of those and write down everything he remembers about the Silence while it's fresh in his mind.

"I may have taken a wrong turn," he allows in a calm voice, moving slowly toward the man on the couch with his left hand in his pocket. He keeps his right free just in case he needs to go for his gun. "What is this place, exactly?"

"One helluva a wrong turn, if that's the case, but we can always use a new handsome face around here," the handsome devil replies, cheekily. "Far as I know, the place doesn't have proper given name, so most people here just call it the Mansion."

His eyebrows rise slightly at the flirting, but he doesn't comment on it. "And people just...end up here. Is that right?"

He wonders if it's a bad thing that this probably isn't the strangest thing he's dealt with this week.

Here's a guy who's completely vanilla, lacking alien physiology and 51st century pheromones, who's currently at the kitchen table cleaning his handguns. There might also be a pot of fresh coffee within arms reach, which he's quite happy to share.

"Evening," he says, eyeing the guns. Definitely something to keep an eye on. He can also smell coffee. He could go for a cup of coffee right now, or something stronger.

The well-armed fellow looks up, giving him a friendly half-smile. "Evening yourself, new to this place?" he asks, with a dry lilt that matches the smile.

"Is it that obvious?" He gestures toward the array of weaponry on the table. "Should I be concerned about safety while I'm here?"

Perhaps if Canton heads outside for a breath of fresh air to clear his head, he might hear something rummaging about in the rock garden, muttering to itself. And if he looks over the porch railing, he'll find...

A plush donkey rummaging about among the frost-bitten plants, as if he's looking for something. "Bother... all frizz," the critter mutters.

...It's a stuffed toy. Walking around the garden on its own. Well, that's a new one. He leans on the porch rail for a moment, wondering...well, just wondering. There's been a lot to wonder about. And now he's watching a stuffed donkey wander around a garden muttering to itself. Oh well. "What's all frizz?"

"Thistles: all frizz from the cold weather," the plush critter grumbles, poking a cushy-looking hoof at the frost bitten plants before looking up. "Don't mind me. Just looking for my breakfast."

Canton nods thoughtfully, as if this is a perfectly normal conversation to be having. If he treats this as normal maybe it will become normal. It's worth a shot anyway. "Have you tried farther from the house? Maybe you'd have better luck some place less exposed."

Bobby Ray isn't the least bit supernatural. Arriving at the Mansion was the first such thing to ever happen to him, though he's run across some crazy stuff since arriving. Still, he's just a good ole' country boy from Alabama, sipping on a beer in the kitchen while contemplating what to make for dinner. He's getting kind of tired of sandwiches.

"Evening," he says as he wanders into the kitchen. He glances around for a moment, then nods toward the beer. "Are there any more of those around?"

"There's a bar in the basement, but I usually find some in the fridge," Bobby Ray smiles, walking over and opening the door. And look there's a six pack of bottled Budweiser. "Are you new here?"

"Very." He steps forward to grab one of the beers. "I'm still getting used to things."

Have someone that's sort of like you, Canton. (Undercover C.I.A.)

She'll be outside, walking about in a jacket.

Canton gives her a polite nod when their paths cross. "Evening."
