Caranthir has been mostly out of sigh - possibly because he's been with the girlfriend, enjoying some torturous rest - hyperactive elves are restless when forced to rest. Then again, maybe he's just been avoiding his father like the plague.

Or Cano wandering away to never be seen again. I asked him if it was worth it. I said that he hadn't crossed the sea to fight the enemy, but only to retrieve the Silmarils. ...I called them baubles. Told him that I'd hated him for centuries." He hunches in on himself a little more with every statement, he'd meant and still does mean every word he said but he can't believe that he'd spoken to their father like that.

Caranthir is visibly impressed. "Wow. Said more than I probably would have. Are you sure you're my little brother?" But he reaches and ruffle's Pityo's hair. "I'm proud of you, bro. I probably wouldn't be any gentler." This gives him courage, actually - he can't not stand up to his father when Ambarussa did. "How about you, Telvo?" Other brother is suspiciously silent. It's worrisome.

"He was upset, about what had happened," Telvo offers quietly, burying himself in his twin's side. "He hadn't known." How could he have, really? "He didn't intend what happened. And he said that the ship...the ship, it was an accident."
