[Open Post] "Hooray, Hooray! The First Spring Day/Outdoor frolicking begins today!"

Mar 21, 2012 01:30

It's unusually warm for early spring, and this has Jack feeling a bit restless in a good way. He's headed outside, his compound bow over his shoulder, and is tramping about the grounds, looking for a little adventure, either a fight or a flirtation, whichever comes first ( Read more... )

Aramat will be outside too, near the gardens digging a new hole for the oleander plant she disturbed at her resurrection. She's dressed in Victorian period approriate clothes for a man. (As she often finds these days that she hates getting her dresses dirty. And admittedly, she likes dressing this way for kicks sometimes.) She still feels a bit blue, but is trying to keep herself busy as she can.

Thanks to the well-fitting slacks and Aramat's position, the first thing Jack might see of her is her well-rounded bottom and wide hips. (The typist is shameless.)

He's likely found a pair of binoculars and he's scanning the garden with them, the cheeky rascal. Which is when he spots Aramat or rather her derriere. He's only wishing the zoom was better on the binoculars, but they're only the analog variety, which means in order to get a better look, he has to get closer. Not that he minds. Anything for an excellent bottom.

"Someone's improving the view," he remarks, cheekily

Aramat raises up her head, revealing that yes, there is a face to go with DAT ASS. It's not a bad one, though a it's a bit gaunt. It's... puzzled.

“Sir?” She hopes Jack's pointing those binoculars at the plants.

He looks up, lowering the binoculars. "Didn't mean to interrupt yer work: I was just enjoying the view," he says. "Good day to plant something, with this nice weather."

Today, Hisoka found a bunch of crocus shoots melting their way through the thinning snow near the stable yard. The air is warm, and the lake ice is breaking up. On his way out to tramp around some parts of the forest that he doesn't visit often, he sees a man in one of the outlying trees. There is a sudden ka-chunk! as an arrow plunks downwards into its target.

As Hisoka gets closer he can see it's the intrepid Captain Harkness. "Good afternoon, Jack!" he greets him.

Jack, perched about fifteen feet off the ground in the fork of a tall oak tree, lets out a hearty chuckle. "Good afternoon yerself, Hisoka," he calls out, slinging the bow over his shoulder. "Give a moment while I come back to earth." And he'll clamber down to the lower branches before dropping to the ground, landing on his feet.

Hisoka laughs, too. "You're the only person I know who practices target-shooting from a tree," he says.

"Never know what kind of position yer gonna find yerself shootin' from, so it pays to be flexible," he says, glancing up at the tree. "I take it I ain't the only one that the fine weather brought out of hibernation."

Last time you met this lady, she was a overly flirtatious hooker. Now she's a overly shy tutor with glasses. (Still cute either way.)

Harumi may sit on the porch with a book picked from the library. She's overly focused on it but it can he broken.

The shy ones are the most worthwhile: it's a little more work warming them up, but that's where the fun comes in. And this one, as he comes up from the yard, reminds him a bit of Toshiko. When he gets closer, he realizes he's seen that cute face somewhere else, only it looked more sultry then. "Getting yourself a little culture there?" he asks,

Harumi adjusts her glasses and nods.

"Yes, Vainty Fair. I love Jane Austen, everyone is so prim and polite."

And repressed to some extent.

"Ahhh, I remember those times: not quite so buttoned-down as they seemed, but people were discreet about it," he says. "Met Miss Jane herself, once: real proper girl, but she had a sense of snark about her. Don't think she took too well to me: I've wondered about Mister Wickham in 'Pride and Prejudice' and where he came from," he adds with a grin.

This, of course, is head-canon, but it's head-canon people have gotten excited about.

For some reason the typist just feels like throwing all sorts of fine ladies to Jack, and this one is no exception.

Around the edges of the Mansion, Mia may be jogging a bit in appropriate clothes. The spring weather is nice and she figures why not enjoy it a bit?

Fine ladies suit Jack just, well, fine!

She may meet up with a tall gent dressed like he wandered in out of a World War II flick, carrying an odd-looking bow over his shoulder, though he'll be checking her out. Somehow it doesn't manage to be creepy. "Good day for a little maintenance, ain't it?" he says, playfully.

And Mia doesn't mind the checking out. She doesn't mind looking good.

"Yes it is..."

"Care for some company? Could use a run myself," he offers

Sorry for the sudden reply after a long silence: I was having voice problems with this guy.

Will's going to show up, because he really, really wants to have a look at that bow. He's heading back to the Mansion from the stables, but he stops when he spots Jack and just stands there, observing.

He's never seen a bow like that. Or arrows like that, for that matter.

He likely realizes he has an audience and he might show off by firing off another shot, drawing the bow, holding his pose for a few seconds, then letting go the string, launching the arrow.

Lowering the bow, he turns to Will with a smile. "Admiring the view?" he asks, impishly.

Will returns the smile, and being the oblivious boy that he is, the suggestiveness of Jack's comment goes completely over his head.

"I was looking at your bow, actually," he says. "I've never seen one quite like it."

"Made it myself: came here a bit unarmed, Man's practically naked if he hasn't the means to defend himself," he says. "So, I rigged up this tackle out of what bits and bobs I could find around here."
