Hello players!
We come to you with an announcement, a player consultation, a rule update and a couple reminders!
Announcement:
The mystery around the wolves in the woods is now solved - we have agreed to make the wolves a moderator-controlled NPC. Their typist has agreed to share their journal (
elvesareyummy) with the team. This means that any player who would like to have evil wolves in a thread may ask any of the moderators for an interaction with them.
Player consultation:
In the same vein, we would like to consult with players regarding a possible plot. We've noticed that the recent wave of drops has had some IC repercussions at the Mansion, with several characters starting to ask questions about these occurrences. We are offering to provide a possible explanation in-game as follows:
a) Morgoth noticed the slew of disappearances and takes advantage of it to incite fear people out by creating poltergeist-like effects in the Mansion for a limited period of time. This would be played out as a standard crackplot.
b) Around the same time wolf sightings increase, culminating in them more or less laying the Mansion under siege for a night.
A combination of both is also possible - though prior to posting this particular plot to the community, we found it important to consult players, as this particular plot will have a Mansion-wide effect. Feel free to provide feedback in comments below (comments screened), or by emailing the mods at carpemods[at]gmail[dot]com if you prefer.
Rule update:
Also! We come to you with a small
rule update, which simplifies the process regarding a matter which is no longer pertinent in-game:
Under Guidelines, point 8 now reads:
8. Puppet ~twinz!~: Duplicate characters are not accepted. However, if a puppet is listed as
taken but doesn't seem to be active, you may contact the moderators for appropriate follow up.
Reminders:
And a reminder: please remember to use your character tag when you reply to a post in the IC community! This is very very important as it helps everyone keep track of RP canon, and helps the moderators keep track of gaming activities.
Also! The moderators have posted before about in-game courtesy. We encourage all players, old and new, to review
this post, along with
this very interesting gamer article about puppet/player relations in the context of text-based RPGs.
That's all! Happy playing!
