[Introduction] Out of the frying pan, into another...

Feb 11, 2012 01:56

Jane sighs on a bed in crappy inn, in a crappy city. She really should complain about the quality of this place to those crooked nuns that told her about it, but anything is better than being chased at gunpoint all day. Her feet are tired. All she can do right now is try and finish the job on the run from her own employers... and stare at the ceiling fan.

Jane blinks her framed golden irises a bit at her line of sight. Just what is that?

It's writing... 'Escape From Death!' Along with the message, there's an arrow pointed at a random door in the room, most likely the closet. Seriously? Like that would help any... She spends some more time pondering about and snarking at the graffiti in her head until...

BAM!

The door to her room gets kicked open and Jane starts taking that ceiling graffiti seriously. SHIT!

She runs in the direction the message tells her to. It turns about that door wasn't the closet, it was a lockable and fireproof door leading the the window outside. Jane quickly opens it and makes her way down the rain gutters. As soon as she reaches the ground, she begins to do as did some hours ago, run.

But after running a fair distance, Jane notices that she's not running in a cesspool of a city named Roanapur anymore. In fact, it isn't even a city anymore... it's a yard. A big one at that, with plenty of snow.

The hacker stands there in the cold, mystified as anything.

"Where the hell am I?"
