"I'm happy that they are," says Hisoka. "And do you remember our late meeting during the first snowfall? Whe I was a lynx and you were a young girl? You were making a building out of snow. A beautiful, elaborate one."

Jaenelle half closes her eyes, and then opens them wide. "Oh! Yes - like a dream, sort of, but I do...you made a very beautiful lynx," she says, with just a glint of mischief in her eyes.

Hisoka laughs. "Thank you! It was rather strange, but also, it was fun. And you were a most appealing young person. Very serious. Now that I think about it, exactly as I would have imagined you at that age. I'm almost sorry the Mansion didn't make me the same age -- we could have been serious together."

Jaenelle ducks her head, and there's a flicker of - something behind her eyes. "I'm much happier now than I was then," she says, quietly, and then seems to shake it off and smiles at him. "I would have liked that."

Hisoka perceives the flicker. Of course, he wonders. But telling others about certain aspects of his own past is a relatively recent development for him, and he doesn't expect others to speak more easily than he does. So he merely replies, "I'm glad you're happier. And who knows what may happen in the future? -- maybe next time, the Mansion will turn us both into cats!" He laughs. "Or...bats."

[Makes me almost wish this kind of thing happened more often. XD Shall we FTB on this one, after your next?]

"Maybe," she says, with a bright smile returning, "Who can say but the Mansion itself, after all? ...it might be fun to be a bat," she adds, almost thoughtfully.

[Sure! And yes, yes indeed.]
