[Introduction] Wandering Spirit
So this is how it all ends... If I knew I was really going to die today, I would have had people near me to see me off... or at least Yusuke. Genkai doesn't want to admit it, but she didn't want to be alone when she finally gave up the ghost. Genkai lies upon the futon, she has no regrets at all. It was a life of hardship and battles, as well as love and happiness. Still, she wanted to grow old with him, perhaps raise the child they never had with him, or continue the dojo... teaching people how to defend their villages, cities, and towns against demons. But that was never meant to be.
A profound sadness erupts in her heart. I'll never see him in the afterlife...She would cry, but there are no room for tears in a warriors eyes, besides... she ran out of tears a long time ago.
Still, no regrets. Not as long as Yusuke was still on this earth, keeping her techniques and skill alive, no matter how many traditions he breaks in the process. He is the new Genkai. And as far as the little old lady is concerned, the person dying isn't Genkai anymore. She's Chiyo, or rather... Tai Yue. The name she had to hide for so many years. Was my powers so strange, that you had to outcast me when we were already outcasts, Baba and Mama? Maybe you two can answer that question for me when I see you.
Everything is starting to fade. She thinks nothing and simply closes her eyes and takes one last breath...
Her eyes open again, she expects to see a pretty girl with an oar and directions to get to the afterlife. But all Genkai sees is fall foliage and feels the slight chill of air. She's underneath a tree in the garden. Now she is peaceful, but confused.
This isn't the Spirit World...
She gets up, still clad in pure white shirt and pants, the color of the dead and mourning. But she can feel her heart still beating and she is breathing. To all appearances, she is a old and frail looking, but an extremely alive woman.

She's rather confused but has a steady head on her shoulders and can take shocking news rather well.
