I really didn't get the baby thing in the King's Cross scene. Can you explain?? I mean, I know that was kinda supposed to be unrepentant Voldy or whatever, but it made no sense to me...
i think that the scene w/ harry and dumbledore and the freaky baby thing was at King's Cross, because DUmbledore had asked harry where he thought he was, and that was the first thing harry could think of, and maybe this is reading too much into it, or maybe even not enough, but going to king's cross station was a milestone in harry's life...it was his entrance into the wizard world (excluding, of course, going to diagon alley), and at that point he was kind of given a choice, figure what the heck platform 9 3/4 is or, accept that his aunt and uncle were right and that there was no such thing, and no such place as hogwarts, he chose the more difficult path of forcing himself to believe that there was such place and inevitably he got there of course

Ah! Thanks for the link. I wish she had kept all this information in the epilogue no matter what. I would have really preferred to know at least this much about the main characters - or at least more than they just got married and had kids (which seems kind of anti-climatic after beating a dark lord and apparently revolutionizing the Ministry).
I laughed at the bit about Luna and Neville because I thought she would make them a couple until she shot that idea down... Amusing to see her go back on it a bit and say that she thinks they might have something after all. :)
I'll probably we happy to have a HP encyclopedia. It makes me feel better when I know there is a source that 'settles' the ending of the story even if the books itself couldn't.
I think she should have kept it in too...though i do get her point about wanting to keep in shorrt and sweet, cause she literally could write a whole nother slew of novels just on the potter/weasley families.
I'm' glad that harry, ron and hermione went on to change the way the ministry was run, it shows that they continued their philosophies and principles beyond what they did in school and in battle.
The encyclopedia does sound great...though it sounds like she's going to take a while to write it.
I do wish that she hadn't stopped writing harry potter books...i think she could continue them quite a bit, granted you could always read fan-fiction, but it's never as good...
