I saw 'Sherlock Holmes stories' and had to stop. Have you read Katie Forsythe? She is basically the most incredible author in that fandom, imo, and she has a ton of completed stories. If you haven't read her, I highly, highly recommend.

Brooker has a really distinctive face, I think. Whereas Mitchell is at first glance fairly nondescript (except for the nose) and improves upon multiple lookings-at. (I say this as someone who can't draw for shit, though.)
I really need to download Heresy.

Yeah, that's definitely true. That and it's much easier to draw someone if you can get their appearance down to a doodle rather than having to actually think about drawing a person.
