It's crass of me to tell such private things! Sorry! It's all long in the past.
Hey, I am not a fan of Polka as well I guess :P, although I can listen to the Annenpolka now. It's still a cheesy piece of music, and that whole genre. Not sure.
About the whole cat/dog thing: schemingreader posted this! That confirms it. I'm a dog! (Okay except for the last few seonds. Ew ... but otherwise! YES! :D)
I love when we laugh together! Heee!
I am kind of girly, I guess, what with the love for hooker clothes, high heeled shoes and my tons of makeup. I swear one of these days I just use a spatula to plaster all that stuff on :P
You can make eyelash-curled eyelashes last longer if you use a lighter to warm up the curlers (obviously only useful with metal eyelash curlers). Careful, that you don't burn your lashes! Happened to me once. Takes aaaaages to grow back ...
Yes, you're definitely YOU-LIKE and that is a great thing!!!
I was forced to go to ballet, too! Seething with rage and hate. Dancing Queen by ABBA still enrages me, and I love ABBA! The dance teacher called me "Little Elephant" as I stomped around the room in such a fury. Eventually we had a lesson in tap, and I demonstrated what steal tipped boots were best for, and I was expelled. Happiest fucking day of my childhood. Four years - and I had to violently kick the students and the teacher to escape from the nightmare!
Actually I am always a little wary of people who have very behaved, well mannered laughs. It's like that adage not to trust men who don't drink. There's a measure of slf-control I find a bit scary :D
I had a friend who literally laughed like a horse. Like she was neighing. I often didn't laugh at her jokes. I just laughed, because she laughed, and then she laughed too, and then we both couldn't stop for ages :D
...do you know how much I love the Neverending Story? Though - admittedly, it was the film. I didn't read the book until I was an adult. I was too busy with Arthur C. Clark and James Clavell as a child
( ... )
I liked elements of the film, like the child actress who was the empress: she was so beautiful. And I liked the boy who portrayed Atreju, but I did not like the special effects very much. I would love for someone else to come along and make this book into a new movie, because these days it would be possible to create something absolutely stunning. (I'm not sure but it may be that the author Michael Ende was so disappointed with The Neverending Story that he withdrew permission to make movies out of his films?)
I like to think that mothers these days are more reasonable, and can distinguish between their own aspirations and what their children really want.
Well, I adored the first film - I still pop it in now and again, but the second film was atrocious. Very disappointing. I don't know how I'd feel about a new Neverending Story at this point. I think more than enough time has passed, but I feel so emotionally attached to the first film, which I grew up watching over and over again, that I would have a hard time accepting a re-do. (I still hate remakes of the Christmas Carol, too. I only like the black & white). I think it has less to do with the film and more to do with me. These are precious memories from my childhood that I wouldn't change for the world, not a word, or a special effect, either. :)
One can only hope that mothers have changed, but having seen all these little would-be models and such that are only five or six years old, I have a feeling that mothers as a whole are no more sensible than they ever were - just maybe less physically violent about it.
I always end up liking remakes, I'm so easily distracted by good looks. I used to be like "Only Leonard Nimoy can be Spock! and then I saw that guy with these monster eye brows and I was like "Oooooh .... shiny ..." Same with Dr. McCoy :D
Oh, and same with Sherlock: not that I'm into BBC Sherlock fandom, but I liked the remake a lot.
A lot of remakes are also horrible of course.
I haven't thought of the beauty contests! So true! They look terrifying. Am I prude for being freaked out by children wearing make-up? It seems to me ironic that America is this country where movies have very strict ratings to protect children's sensibilities (or their mothers) but then also have these beauty contests where children are more or less sexualised.
