Oh boo, no need to apologize for being sensitive and taking a half-hearted comment badly, we all do it at one time or another.
And I'll have you know, I have a few of your fics from HP saved so don't downgrade yourself as a writer. We can't be all things to all people, and not everything we do is going to appeal to everyone. It's just the way it goes and isn't a reflection on you or your abilities.
(And hey, I'm binge re-watching The Walking Dead too! The wait for the new season is way too long. Blah!)
Hee, I guess I was tired from work. I think I reacted to that "I won't like you if you don't write x" tone in that comment, but on the other side, I may have written these kind of comments too (I hope I don't do any longer!) Also, that was only one comment, and the other 8 on that chapter were supernice and sweet!
Thanks for reading my stuff! It menas A LOT to me! And my old HP fics! I've only just recently began to dabble in HP again-a Snack (which I'm writing in German for no reason) and a Snarry! I might also write a fic for Snupin, because it's their last one and I love this fest!
I have a new flatmate who hasn't seen The Walking Dead! Rewatching stuff with someone who hasn't seen it before is really fun! He' so into it! Are you watching Halt And Catch Fire?
I think we've all had a comment or two that just rubbed us the wrong way rather than a genuine flame. AO3 is actually starting to attract a lot more "entitled" commenters than it used to, I've noticed.
A walk sounds like a good idea for sure but don't let the assholes keep you from doing what you love. <3
OMG, I heard that too-from another writer, who got also shit for writing kinky stuff and people wrote long comments on how/why she shouldn't, etc.; While reading I've also came across other comments where people suggest how the story should go/would be improved. WOW :O
For some reason I have been spared, maybe because I tend to over-warn and over-tag. I don't "surprise" anyone with my unrealistic sex scenes and bad porn dialogue and I honestly think no ones clicks on my links expecting authentic comment of LGBTQIA reality/issues or such.
Yeah, had a drink and a nice night with tv-show binging so all is ok, haha
It wasn't-fortunately-a nasty comment, just basically saying "Hey, I want more porn" ... On any other day I might have ignored it, just yesterday I had one of these days, where little things can set me off. had a nice drink afterwards, so all is good now, and I'm going to cheerfully continue with my highly unrealistic, tasteless, perverted drivel ahaha :D
I had a feedback a couple of weeks ago complaining that neither the characters I was writing about nor the actors portraying them were gay, and went on to list their wives and children by name. What the ever living fuck was that person doing on A03? You put so much effort into a fic and that's what you get? That really leads to a huge 'fuck you' and 'I give up' attitude. Then again, someone who's been consistently sending me good feedback over the years is currently going through financial shit, so I sent her $50 because I will always remember a good feedbacker.
OMG Where is this person even from??? This is nearly hilarious.
I once got a comment to a pwp "As long as everybody is having a good time, then absolutely go for it." which isn't negative per se ... just a bit odd.
My way of trying to prevent negative comments is littering my fic with warnings. In my Hiddleworth fic I have even taken to warning at the beginning of the chapter, so people can't complain afterwards and they're clear, it's their responsibility.
Some people's feedback is incredibly nice-that should count more anyway!

Don't let the bastard trolls grind you down. Sometimes I wonder if the people making the comments have actually read the fics.
