I'm kind of spammy today. Sorry.

I was in the breakroom with ophelias_heart and her husband at lunch today, and we got on the subject of fan fiction. As you do. So after I confessed that I have considered writing Yukon Cornelius/Hermey the gay dentist elf slash, and he confessed that he would consider reading it, he wondered if perhaps there was some Captain Picard/Charles Xavier crossover ( Read more... )

I gave up my pride the minute my SIL figured out that I wrote slash. My sister in law who is pretty into Jesus and would probably vote for Rick Perry.

Funny story? She writes Harry Potter fic! (Harry/Hermione. We have essentially nothing to talk about.)

Funnily enough, writing fic is what made my supervisor like me best. Her daughter writes fic, so now she has lumped me in with her daughter in her head because of my fic-writing. It's really worked in my favor.

It totally amazes me how many people do, in fact, know about fic. I think in my head for so long it was like a dirty little secret that I had to hide cause no one would understand (... me like the CURE! Sorry, had to say that.) but then when I mention it people I would NEVER have put as fangirls/boys are like "Oh yeah. I've seen that." It's bizarre and unsettling and comforting all in one go.

My 14 year old cousin writes fic and I am always nervous she'll find me somehow. Like, yeah I get the Internet is huge but not THAT huge and oh my lord she writes in fandoms that are only really two degrees away from mine. DEAR LORD.

We're nearly mainstream! It's kind of freaky. Saves on a lot of convoluted explanations, though.

And the internet isn't really that huge when it comes to fandom. We all know that. I don't blame you for being nervous.

Yukon Cornelius/Hermey the gay dentist elf slash

I have been laughing about them ever since that text! We watched Rudolph earlier in the week and I kept laughing and my kids kept asking me why.

I just kept telling them it was nothing, but, oh god, I was dying inside!

i love it that you were a slasher that young. i've been a fangirl since 77 Sunset Strip, or maybe even earlier, but i was always just in love with some actor or other. weird that i discovered slash so late, only 9 years ago. wow, to think of all the ships i could've shipped all my life! :D

I've looked back over the years and realized I was slashing without knowing it a few times... like my love for Face/Murdock's friendship on the A-Team. heh.

I was a wee baby slasher! Before that I was Mary Sueing myself into The Three Investigators books. I wanted to date Bob and help them solve crimes. I suppose now I'd probably slash Bob and Pete, but back then I was going to marry him myself.

Santa Clause: The Movie is a great movie, I loved LOVED it the first time I saw it. Corny/Joe rule. :-)

I too am a fangirl. And proud of it, because really one must embrace the fangirly-ness once you hit a certain point and just enjoy it. Just got back from buying the shiny new Voltron 1st Voltron comic since my fav cartoon when I was 10 is now all new and shiny again. LOL.

If there is not any Captain Picard/Xavier floating around I would be shocked. Because uh, damn that sounds hotter than hot actually. LOL. Who still have her action figures of Garak and Julian next each other on her bookcase :-D

They moved to the North Pole with Santa so they could be together forever! There are a million fics there.

True that! I remember feeling like at the time they tapped into the storyline Grandmary and I had made up that we play acted all the time when I was younger. About a brother and sister who met Santa and hung out at the North Pole all the time.
