I liked: "It’s the reason he’s been letting Finn make all the decisions in their relationship so far..." Hmmm, has he? Will really does show so uch restraint. Imagine him wanting Finn for so long and being too afraid to ever do anything about it. And suddenly, here is Finn kissing him one day... and talking about moving in the next.
Shannon is awesome and I can only imagine she will be the one support Will will have at school regarding Finn.

"He likes the idea of tying their lives so closely together that it will be that much harder for Finn to untie them, when the time comes." That broke my heart a little bit. Sometimes I want to slap Will. And then reassure him of Finn's love while we cuddle on the couch and watch Blade Runner:) Great chapter!

Plus, if anybody can knock some sense into him, it's her. Because he is an idiot. But he'd totally watch Blade Runner with you, because that's a classic too ;)

And I also love Shannon and think that her reaction, while ultimately supportive, might have that frisson of "but I used to coach this kid". Ooh - just had a thought: what if Will/ Finn didn't announce it, just shacked up, shared a bedroom, and carried on living life like normal, but together now, and just let people notice and work it out for themselves. Let Will's mom work it out during Sunday lunch on her way to her seventh glass of wine and carping about Will's failure to provide Grandkids. I dunno. Luckily, I don't have to - you're the genius writer. In you I trust. :-)
50? Must nearly be halfway there.... Seriously welldone that woman! *offers congratulatory pitcher of Martinis*

Confession: I'm a little terrified of writing Sue. I've never really tried it, and I don't know how it's going to go if/when I do, but I do have a plan. (Sort of.) And I think Shannon's the kind of friend who, like you said, would be supportive of Will's choices while rolling her eyes the entire time. Because let's face it, her BFF is kind of a dumbass.
I will probably be clinging to the pitcher of martinis and sobbing openly at some point during this exercise, so I thank you.

OMG, I'm so sorry for that last sentence of 900 clauses.
In moments of extreme need, I can recommend obtaining a long piece of plastic tubing, (drinking-straw diameter) and then laying down on one's bed, placing the pitcher on the floor, and drinking through the tube. Important to have the pitcher lower than head height: otherwise one risks drowning in an unfortunate alcoholic syphoning accident. SO not glamourous.
Well: venture bravely young Jedi.

I am staring at my shaker right now wondering if 4 o'clock on a Sunday is too early to make cocktails!
