This started as a little 1200 word fill on the
puckurt Fic Meme. I was just messing around one night between writing projects, really. Then it took hold of my brain and wouldn't let go, and somehow I lost an entire week of my life. Nearly 40,000 words of Kurt POV later and here we are. OMG I need a drink. And yeah, I'm totally posting Big Bang-style. I don't even care, people
For the record, all the rules mentioned in this thing were cribbed directly from a boys' school at which I used to attend dances when I was in high school. They had boarders and day students, and all the physical contact rules were there for when girlfriends visited, ostensibly, which happened on a more or less regular basis. A friend of mine was dating a boy who went there at the time, so we were well-versed in the rules. But they applied in theory to anybody, not that boys were openly making out with each other in the hallways in those days. More's the pity; it would have made the dances a lot more entertaining.
The first person to correctly name the song I stole, bastardized, and then passed off as Puck's own gets a free fic of your choice from yours truly! (If you can read my mind and name the song Puck doesn't play, I will buy you a pony.)
jengeorge wins the prize! (Though I would have written her fic anyway. DON'T TELL HER.)
Title: words we use for you and me
Fandom: Glee
Pairing: Kurt/Blaine, Kurt/Puck
Rating: NC17
Summary: AU Based on
this prompt posted by
bubbleslayer. After Kurt transfers to Dalton, his life is perfect. He has friends and a spot in the show choir, and a hot boyfriend who's totally into him, so it's easy to ignore the nagging feeling that something's missing. Then Puck turns up and Kurt's life gets a lot more complicated. 37,600 words.
A/N: This is mostly canon-dependent in that it deals with recent canon events, so there are spoilers right up through the current episode, and sorta-spoilers for the episode after next, I think? But it's all very AU and I made Dalton a boarding school even though I think that's technically not true, because boarding school is always more fun. Always. With thanks to
duckduck,
cinderlily, and
jengeorge for the encouragement and the typo policing. Any remaining mistakes are obviously mine.
Covers (two of them!) made by the lovely and talented
cinderlily, who was probably taking pity on me after listening to me whine about how I never get art, even when I participate in a Big Bang, but whatever. I'm not proud.
