The thing about Spencer is he's pretty strong and obviously brilliant, but he's not that strong at the same time. Derek props him up emotionally in canon all the time. Like, they're equals, but Spencer has leaned on him pretty heavily in the past.
Canonical gay married boyfriends with issues, basically. So it's like Nick/Greg all over again.
Poor Spencer is going to hear it from Garcia when he gets back...providing you send him back. Are you sending him back? Not that I'm prying or trying to get inside info. I'd never do that. But is he going back???
Derek, just go back to VA. Don't worry about the job and go back with the one you love.
I read your comment to Michelle about them being like Nick/Greg, I have to agree. Though, in my head Nick and Greg bought that house in Henderson and bitch about Catherine and Langston as they drive into work every night, Ecklie be damned.
Nick and Greg are so very much Old Marrieds. They live together and drive to work together and weird inconspicuous matching rings which only Cath and Sara have ever called them on, because everyone else knows better, by God.
You can bend it and twist it... You can misuse and abuse it... But even God cannot change the TruthjengeorgeNovember 10 2010, 03:17:11 UTC

A story to me means a plot where there is some surprise. Because that is how life is - full of surprjengeorgeNovember 10 2010, 03:12:05 UTC
See, here you go again, making me all --interested-- in another pairing. (OK, so I can't really blame this fic in particular, because, who am I kidding, I've read every Morgan/Reid piece you've written!)but I did want to say how much I am enjoying it.
(and, you know, I have a pretty quick turn around if you ever need another set of eyes to proof something before it goes live--esp. just for grammar and the like over context-- I'm, sadly, online most of the day, due to work and my obsessive need to escape through fandom, so, I'm just saying...)
Anyway, I'm excited to see where this goes. Even though I never really got into this show (and I tried at the beginning--*blushes* at her inaproriate crush on Mandy Patinkin)I love how you write these characters and am glad you chose to revisit this story. I can only imagine the plethora of unfinished business you have lying around on your hard drive...

Oh, girl, you have no idea.
I will get back to you on that beta offer when I'm less inebriated. I bet I spelled that wrong.
Seriously, though, this thing I finished five minutes *after* I was supposed to leave to work out before Glee, so it's a mess, I'm sure. I'm trying to stick to the five installments a week, but Glee fic is just a lot easier to write.
Aw, hooray for quiet introspection. And I'm curious to see how the Garcia/Morgan conversation will fall out.
Lovely chapter as always.
I'm a bit confused on timeline here (it happens after 13 hour days sadly). It seems like Spencer's still visiting, but didn't his conference thing end? And he took the extra day to spend with Derek before a mid-afternoon Sunday flight? So why would Spencer be done at 3:00 to play hooky with Derek? Unless this is some sort of phone hooky?
It's only Thursday in the timeline, I think? So he's still got today and Friday of the symposium, and then he's free on Saturday. IIRC. I hope I recall correctly!
